Everything that comes together
falls apart.You knew
in the respective silence
between two souls,
to hold onto that thing with wings
and the volatile heart
was the silliest of silly things.Still, you tried.
Clenched your fists
and closed your eyes.
Thought that if you were
selfless enough...there enough,
soft enough, understanding enough,
you could be enough. But a one-sided battle will never be won,
if you hadn't already learned that enough.
Your heart was simply too heavy and too full,
so you tried to give it away
but somewhere in the exchange
that heart beat against the floor. We place pieces in our puzzles
only to take them out again.
We build each other up
only to tear each other down.
We give until we have nothing left,
and take until we have too much.We build our walls in hopes
that someone will climb them.
But when anyone tries,
we will push them away. You were broken simply for being
a very sincere thing,
in a world too often insincere.
Believing in Forever
when it all so quickly ends;
just a side-affect of death.Because everything that comes together
falls apart.
