Chapter 8 - Buying the right equipment

I left the Guild, while closing the door, I saw a map outside the guild placed on a board. Notification appears in front of me,

“a map has been detected, do you want to transfer data to your map?

Yes               No”

Why the hell should I press no, this is the peak of convenience as of right now.

So everything was transferred to my map, everything that was on the map board was added to my map, it was really convenient. Still I wouldn't want do any zooming whatsoever, so I asked a soldier nearby, “soldier-san, do you know where I could buy equipment?”

“It's jou-san again, eto, it's near the south gate, you should keep moving forward from the guild, there you’ll find an equipment store.” As he finished saying that, orange mark with a line was added on the map. Whoa asking for directions triggers the GPS to turn on… how convenient does this map actually turned out to be.

“Again, thank you very much.” I bowed and immediately followed the orange line.

As I goes toward the gate, the crowds decrease every time. There's not a lot of store open right now since people were trying to see the hero. Anyway I don't want to meet him, I don't want to be an enemy to the human, so I’ll lay low.

Pretty much everything is close right now, I think I have to do the quest tomorr… oh something is open, I went near the store, a muscular old man, with short stature was sitting on a slab of stone, he was hitting a red glowing stick with a hammer, this is a blacksmith store, nice, what I’m looking for.

“Ano, is this store open ji-san” I asked as I peek my head inside.

The old man sitting on the slab of stone was ignoring my call and he kept pounding the red hot metallic stick.

I tried calling for him once again, this time with a louder voice, “ANO, JI-SAN IS THIS STORE OPEN!!” he was shocked and quickly shifted his gaze from the metallic stick to me.

“Sorry, there jou-san” the man said as he put the stick into a bucket of water, then he cleans his hand with his jacket and he continued, “What kind of weapon do you need jou-san?”

What kind of weapon I haven't used, that's what I want to try, most of Japanese weapon I have tried it, it's fairly easy to used, I looked at the variety of weapon inside the store, a few of them were from Japanese which probably another person that reincarnated here bring or make, but the other look pretty western. I have been using heavy weapon from the beginning I tried martial art, I think I want something light, like a rapier.

Speaking of the devil, as I think of that, I saw a rapier that pique my interest, a round hilt with blue as it main colour, and small long sword that probably a light one.

Then I asked him while pointing to the rapier, “Ji-san, how much is this?”

He looked troubled by the rapier I choose, “that one is quite expensive, I don't think someone who is new could afford that.”

Oh yeah, well whatever, I’ll just be blunt and ask him, “how much is it?”

“1045000 pin, since the material used is Titanium, a rare ore that is strong and light at the same time, the durability of the rapier is really high and… ehmm, sorry I got excited.” The old man cleared his throat.

“Then I would like to buy it please” I said taking the rapier, even though it cost more than my room.

He looked surprised, “are you perhaps a daughter of a noble?” He looked at me with anger, probably some nobles had done a number on him.

Of course I was shocked seeing the man looked so angry, I repeatedly shake my head left and right while saying. “That's wrong, that's wrong, I’m not some noble’s daughter, I just helped someone with a high status and I got this as a reward.”

I do feel bad, a lot of nobles are bad in this time around, or is it he’s tricking me about the material used? Just to make sure, I took a sword that look huge and sturdy, and I swing the rapier down to the long sword with all my might, and the long sword was cut in half cleanly leaving no dent on the rapier.

His expression went back to normal, infact he was actually laughing because of my shocked expression as the long sword was cut in half cleanly.

“I’m so sorry, for breaking this long sword, I was a little bit skeptic, but I know I shouldn't have done that, because of that I’ll pay for both the rapier and the long sword.” I was actually panicking because I broke someone else property.

“don’t sweat it jou-san, anyway, you’re still planning to buy the rapier?”

“Ah yes, I would like to buy it”

I gave him my bank card and he put it on a box, and a notification box appears,

“a large amount of money is about to be used, 1045000 pin, are you really buying this item?

Yes          No”

I press yes, but why the notification box didn't appear while buying the room and the food, I think it's just if the amount exceeded 1 gold.

Alright, this rapier is mine, I could do some hunting after this.

“Thank you for your purchase” he gave my card back and the weapon sheath.

“Do you have anything that I could attach the sword to my hip?” I asked him.

“Ah, we have a belt that attach to a one piece dress, it's on the house” He took out a belt from below the desk.

“Thank you” even tough he said it could attach, but it couldn't, well I could just put it diagonally so that my hip could hold the belt. Surprisingly, as I tried to shake it off, the belt still attach to my hip, no way.

I put the rapier into it’s sheath and attach it to the belt.

“If you have any problems with that rapier of yours, you could come to this place again.” He said giving a thumbs up.

“yes, give me a discount kay ji-san” I laugh.

“Depending on the problem, I’ll give a suitable discount.” He said followed with a laugh.

I went out thinking, why am I being head-on, I was suppose to use it wisely, but 2 gold have disappeared instantly. But these 2 things are a long term use, I think I’ll be fine.

I took out the leaflet and analyse the herb, the leaf of the herb have this wave on the edge, and the bone of the leaf stop halfway then it got separated into 4 part.

I have never seen this kind of leaf before, and the name also sounds weird, Razack. I think this will be an easy search.
