Author note: thank you for reading and liking my work, I will try uploading 2-4 chapter a week.

The Story:

We walked closer to the village, strangely there was no fence nor a wall to protect the village from monsters attack, but instead a large plot of land outside the village was used as a vegetables farm and wheat farm. Other than that, a path has been made where the forest has been clearly cut off alongside the plot of land where we can clearly see the blue sky without being blocked by the tree.

We took the dirt path that was made across the farm. The farm is clearly functional and is currently growing, so this is not something that was made just to fool people. As we walked down the path, we didn't see anyone managing the farm, suspiciously we didn't see anything either inside the village while walking toward it.

Just by looking at the scale from afar, this village is a huge one, yet there was no one walking inside the village from afar. As we got closer, slowly people got out and a few people were waiting near the end of the dirt path.

We passed through the dirt path and were stopped by 2 people.

"Is there any identification with you?" One of them said.

"We…" Cecilia said and I cut her off.

"No we don't, we were from a small village trying to get to the city, and we would like to stay here for a few days before continuing our journey" I said.

"We do have inns here, by all means please have a pleasant stay" The other said.

We walked past them as we gave our thanks, and looked around the village. The village became a lot more lively as we walked inside the village, which was already suspicious. We immediately searched for the inn the guard said, we found the inn after a while and went in. We were greeted by a young lady on the receptionist desk.

"How much for 2 days for a room with 3 beds?" I asked.

"We don't have a room that has 3 beds, but we do have a room that has 2 beds" she said.

"Ok, we will rent the room with 2 beds and nothing else" I replied.

"That will be 2000 pin, and if you want breakfast that's going to be 3000 pin for three people" She answered.

"No need, we will just pay for the room please" I replied.

"Then that will be 2000 pin" She said.

Cecilia took out a few silver coins and handed it to the young lady, and in exchange, she gave us the key to the room.

"Your room will be on the second floor and number 2" she said.

"Thank you" I said and everyone said the same thing, and we went up to the room.

We opened the room and it seems clean and tidy for us to stay in. We put away the bag we brought on the chair and I casted a barrier that will prevent people from eavesdropping.

"This village is really suspicious" Cecilia said.

"Yes, it starts being lively as we get closer" Haru stated.

"That is indeed weird" I replied.

"I did see the receptionist's expression change a bit because we only rented one room" Haru said.

"So they were hoping we got separated" I said as I put my hand on my chin.

"So how are we going to uncover everything?" Cecilia asked.
