six.

As I walk down the stairs, my senses are hit by the lovely smell of crispy bacon. My favourite.

"You're the best!" I yelled to Melissa, grinning ear to ear.

"Do you even have to say?" I hear my aunt's playful voice vibrating from living room.

As I walked to the kitchen, I swear I almost drooled when I spotted the piles of grilled heaven sitting on a plate.

What? I'm a sucker for bacon.

I popped a few pieces of bread in the toaster, before in seconds, it popped out again with slightly darkened crispy toast.

I placed the toasts on a plate and spread some butter on one side of it, before tossing the bacon on.

I'm probably just about the only living being who doesn't eat a bacon sandwhich without any eggs.

What can I say? I'm an animal lover.

Bacon is just an exception.

Oh, and sausages, those are delicious. And let's not forget meat pies, shall we - I don't think I can live without them. Als- nevermind, screw that statement about me being an animal lover.

I like meat and I'm proud of it.

I swear I almost glowed, as I held the sandwich up to my mouth, taking a big bite. I moaned, as I chewed on it, before taking another huge bite.

Soon I was pretty much finished all the bacon available. I got out of my chair, just as Talia was walking downstairs.

"Mhm, I smell bacon." She said, and I could hear the grin in her voice.

Uh oh.

Run.

I heard the frustrated scream of Talia as she found out that there were no bacon left. Nevertheless, I kept running.

"OH ALYSSA YOU LITTLE SHIT, I'M GOING TO GET YOU BACK FOR THIS!" And then she started running for me as I reached the end of garden.

Oops.

"There's still more bacon, you just didn't see." I lied, nonchantly.

She narrowed her eyes, before walking back in the house as I sighed in relief.

"ALYSSA!"

I sat in my room wrapped around my fluffy towel. After Talia had found out I lied about having bacon left, she practically emptied a whole bag of flour on my head. Wasteful, I know.

So instead of doing my homework, like I usually do each Saturday, I spent half an hour trying to wash all the white powder off my body, and another half washing the remnants of flour stuck on my favourite batman t-shirt.

God better forbid Talia from coming within 10 meters radius of my radar, or I might just be tempted to commit murder.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

I rushed to the door and opened it, to reveal Mike.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, repeating the same question I did several years ago.

Mike certainly appeared in the most unusual of times.

Melissa suddenly appeared by my side, flustered.

"Come in." She dragged the bald man inside.

Mike nodded at me, before Mel and him went into the study.

I heard a click, and before I knew it, my feet was carrying my body over to the door of the study on its own.

Something was fishy, and I was going to find out.

So what do you guys think about this chapter? Any theories yet?

And also, go check out my book 'Paper Crane Wishes' if you have time. It's basically about a girl who gets leukaemia, if you're into that kind of stories haha.
