I pile the groceries onto the counter boredly, I had to do the shopping again since mom is busy. I look up at the cashier and see him staring back with a smirk, embarrased I look down and got out my wallet.

"I haven't seen you around." A deep voice says. I look up confused and see the boy smiling.

"Are you talking to me?" I point to myself and he laughs. He nods and I feel blood rush to my cheeks. "Uh, I usually go to Walmart but I suddenly felt like coming to Target." I say softly.

"That explains it, I would have remembered if a girl as pretty as you came." I feel my cheeks heat up so I look down at my converse.

"Uh- uh, t-thanks." I say but it came out more like a question and I mentally face palm myself.

"I think it's cute." I look up at him confused, "Your blush, it's cute." He continues and smiles, he has dimples and I almost melt into a puddle right there but luckily I managed some self control.

"Here's your total." He points to the digital numbers so I fish out some money that mom gave me. He return my changed and I catch a glimps at his name tag as I grab the bags.

"Nice talking to you Britney." I say to the boy and his face srunched up puzzled. I point to his name tag with my free hand and he looks down.

"What the fu- Seriosuly guys? Again!" He shouts and I hear snickering from the other cashiers. The store wasn't filled with people since it's late so his voice echoed. I hid my smile and made my way to my car.

"Class, your homework today is to write a poem regarding the play we learned today." Mrs White says as the school bell goes off and I groan. I keep all my things and quickly got to my locker. Thank god that's the last period for today.

I rush to my car since I cannot be late for work again, I muttered a few excuse me's as I speedwalk down the halls. The students actually heard me for once, at least a few of them, and let me through. Soon enough I was in my run down car, which I love to bits, and got to the bakery with three minutes to spare.

I ran in from the staff's entrance and I swear I saw a ghost of a smile on Amanda's face.

"Welcome to A's Bakery, how may I assist you?" I smile at the customer.

"Target girl?" My smile fades and I look at the boy confused.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" I ask politely.

"I'm the cashier in Target, the one who you called Britney two weeks ago." He says and I nod, remembering him. His eyes seems greener today. "My name is Oliver." I realised I zoned out so I gave him a puzzled look.

"You called me Britney, my name is actually Oliver."  I nod and realise a line forming behind him.

"I would love to chat but I have some orders to take, so are you ready to order?"

He looked back and a faint pink tinted his cheeks, "Uh, yeah. I'll have the blueberry muffin."

"Is that all?" I ask as I type in his order, I see him nod from the corner of my eyes. "That would be one fifty please."

"You know you can go now right?" I look to my right and see Amanda leaning against the wall with her apron on, her clothes has sprinkles of flour from baking.

"I know, just thought I'll help you clean up the counter before I go." I leave the rag I was using to wipe the counter.

"You do know I won't give you a raise right?" I laugh and nod, "Go home Kate, I think that boy is waiting outside." I give her a puzzled look and she sighs. "The boy from earlier who was totally holding up the line, I should mention, you should also stop giving people that look."

"What look?"

"That one right there! It's like you don't know what's happening but I bet you do."

"I do not-"

"Just get going Kat. The boy is going to get frostbite I'm telling you." I laugh it off and grab my jacket from the staff room.

"Bye Amanda! See you on Thursday." I wave and got out of the bakery, the bell above the door making a sound.

"About time!" I jump and I see an annoyed looking Oliver.

"Hey."

"Don't you hey me uh, what's your name?" I let out a small laugh.

"Kate."

"Kate, that name suits you." He smiles and I see his dimples again. Somehow I manage to control myself and not blush like crazy.

"Uh thanks. I'm sort of born with it." I say awkwardly and he lets out a chuckle.

"Anyways, do you want to hang out sometime?" He says with a straight face and I almost choke on air.

"Are you talking to me?" He looks over to me with a small smile.

"Yeah."

"Uh, okay?" I say and he laughs again.

"Are you always this awkward?" I feel blood rush to my cheeks before I could control it.

"Uh, pretty much. So are you free on Saturdays?"

"Eager are we?" He teased and I look down, "I'm joking, but Saturday will be fine." I smile then excuse myself because I had to rush for the bus.

"Bye Britney!" I say before I run towards the bus stop and I swear I could hear him laughing from here.
