I wake to the beeps of my alarm clock. I sluggishly roll out of bed and walk to my mirror. There I stand, a figure of innocence and poise. On the inside I am a murder and a thief. I go to my door and find hanging there, my new school uniform. I don't even get why they make us wear these stupid uniforms. I usually love going undercover, it's like I get to play in a movie or something. But this time my alias is to be a straight A student that NEVER gets into fights. Emphasis on never. In my last mission I was supposed to get intel in a nice and respectful way. I may have stuck a knife in somebody's leg, but hey they said to be nice. That is me being nice. Anyway I better not argue, else I would like to risk getting punished by the Commander. Last time I disobeyed him, I received thirty lashes, next time he won't be so kind. So, I begrudgingly put on my uniform, looking with disinterest at myself in the mirror. My fire red hair rolling down my shoulders making a subtle wave. My lips a light shade of pink. My skin a light sunkissed copper. My eyes the color of sapphires. Most would say I am a picture of pure beauty, but under my clothes reveal hideous scars and burns from my missions, punishments, and childhood. My Commander says I deserved everything that happened to me. That if I was hurt, I was weak and worthless. Without another word my door bursts open.
"Agent Sapphire, the Commander wishes to speak to you," recites a tall broad teenager, fifteen perhaps.
"Thank you Jimmy, and I've told you to call me by my name."
"Oh please excuse me Alisa, I only try to show respect for the ones higher ranked than me."
"Yes, that may be the Commander's wishes. But when you're with me we're friends, and friends call each other by their names. Not their code names, am I clear?"
"Crystal. Well you better get going before the Commander has both our heads."
I walk down the hall heading in the direction of the Commander's Office. As I approach, the men stationed outside salute in my direction.
"At ease men."
The doors to the Commander's Office open, only to reveal the face I hate the most. My Fathers.
