"Commander, you wanted to see me?"
"Alisa you know you could just call me dad and stop being so difficult."
"You stopped being my father the day you killed my mother. You are nothing but my Commander."
"As you wish. The reason I called you here was to go over your mission. You are to..."
"Commander, I've read the file hundreds of times. I know..."
In a flash he raised his cold hand and striked it across my face, fury ran from his eyes into my cheek. I fell to the ground trembling, it had only been a month since I got punished, but this is something you never get used to. My own flesh and blood abusing and using me as if I'm his puppet. I force myself to stand with rage in my eyes and anger in my fists. Before I can strike back, I find myself grasping for air. He had kicked my in the chest. I sit on my hands and knees wheezing trying to find my strength. Before I can rise my Commander speaks,
"Never interrupt me again or I will rip off each and every one of your fingers."
"Why are you going easy on me?"
"Because you have school, and no child of mine will show up to school in a pool of their own blood. No we can't have that."
"You're a psychopath!"
"Maybe, but must I remind you of the innocent people you killed."
"What do you mean?! You tell me that we only kill people who have done us wrong!"
"Yes mostly. Although sometimes it's just for fun."
"You enjoy seeing my hands stained with blood."
"How'd you know", the Commander chuckles, "Now you must go, or else you'll be late."
And with that the Commander exits his office, leaving me lying in pain on the cold floor. In a flash a memory of my childhood comes to mind. There stands a girl resembling myself with a beautiful woman by her side. They walk down the sidewalk to the park. The girl complains to the woman that she wishes that her daddy could be there. The girl asks why her daddy is never home. The woman tells her that her daddy has a busy job and that he must leave on business trips. The girl asks what her daddy's job is. The woman tells her that she needn't worry about it, that she hopes that the girl never finds out. And with that the memory is gone. Tears are left on my face. All I can think about is how much I miss that woman. How much I miss my mother.
