Mikeys POV
I woke up to see a sleeping Bryce laying beside me. I smiled looking at his face. I carefully traced lines in his arm, just focusing on the lines, not knowing he had woken up.
"Morning," Bryce softly spoke, causing me to look up at him. I smiled and kissed his lips quickly, before hopping outta bed, throwing on some boxers and one of Bryce's tops, before going down to the kitchen, leaving a confused Bryce.
I began pulling out ingredients for chocolate pancakes. I put all the ingredients on the counter when Bryce came in, wearing his boxer shorts, ruffling his hair into place.
"What are you doing?" Bryce asked confused as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I smiled as I poured the correct amount of flour in a bowl.
"We have to eat before Jackson and Linden come over with Lyon," I told him, as he muffled something into my neck.
"I can't hear that B," I told him, raising his head with the heel of my hand. In one swift move, Bryce twisted me around so our chests were against one anothers. Even though he has done this a million times, to this day my heart always beats faster when he does it. He smiled, leaning down, placing his lips on mine, while one of his hands wrapped around my waist and the other one was on my cheek. I put my hands on his waist as Bryce deepened the kiss.
Some how, he moved the bowl of flour and butter, and he lifted me up so I was now sitting there. I put my hands on Bryce's cheeks, while he put his one of his hands on my thigh, while the other was on my waist. I smiled into the kiss, allowing Bryce's tongue to enter my mouth.
"We're here! I hope you guys are decent!" Linden yelled coming in the door. Bryce muttered a 'fuck' under his breath as the two came into the kitchen, leaving Lyon in the living room to play with his toys.
"Eh, I'll be back in a minute," Bryce muttered, leaving the room. I smirked knowing why he was leaving but Jackson and Linden were confused, but shrugged it off.
"I was mak-" I froze, as I felt something hard grow down below. I blushed before excusing myself. I walked to the bathroom, to hear Bryce groan. I smirked before opening the door.
"You could've waited," I said, making him turn around to look at me. His face flushed, but instantly, he came onto me, pressing my back against the door.
"We gotta do this quick," Bryce told me and I nodded agreeing. Obviously, we had sex in the bathroom, it was very quick but yeah, we managed to get away with it, even though Bryce's moans were loud as fuck.
"So how was the date?" Linden asked us as I set a plate full of pancakes on the table in front of Jackson and Linden, Bryce walked into the kitchen with Lyon, putting him in his baby chair, putting half a pancake on a plate for him.
"It was good actually," Bryce smiled, and I shook my head.
"Nah, I thought it was unforgettable," I told them, while Bryce's smile widened. The doorbell rang just as I sat down, I groaned getting up to answer it. Justin, Tyler and Raegan was at the door. I allowed them inside, to join the rest.
For the first time in months, we were all under the same roof. I smiled, joining my friends.
-
The next day, I decided to do some shopping while Bryce watched Lyon. I walked down the street with a shopping bag in my hand, I froze when I heard a small sob. I walked down a lane between two old buildings.
Behind a bin, there was a woman laying on the ground holding a baby wrapped in her coat, blood was on her top and pants. Instantly, I began to help her by holding her child, to see if she had any wounds, which she did. She had been stabbed on the lower stomach and her leg.
"It's gonna be okay," I reassured her, while I rang the ambulance.
"T-thank you," she muttered after I told the woman on the other end of the phone what had happened. I smiled weakly at her, still holding the child in my arm, with the other hand I applied pressure on her leg wound while she held her stomach wound.
The ambulance came, helping her inside, I was gonna leave knowing she got to safety, but something was telling me to go with her. I climbed in, sitting beside her holding the child while one paramedic began to work on her wounds and the other checked the baby in my arms.
"The child seems to be okay," the lady told me with a smile. "The baby is a girl," she informed me and the mother, who slightly smiled with a sniffle as the other paramedic was stitching her leg wound. When we got to the hospital, she had to be tested along with her daughter. But I waited.
"Sorry, did you help the woman who came in here earlier on?" The doctor asked breaking my thoughts. I stood up and nodded.
"Mikey, Mikey Barone," I told him, he nodded, telling me that the woman would like to speak to me. I followed him to the room where she was laying with an oxygen mask on her face. The nurse had told me that she had lost a lot of blood, and has been bleeding inside her body for over two days, so there is a high chance she will not make it out of the hospital.
"How are you feeling?" I asked her when I closed the door behind me and sat beside her. She looked down at me with a weak smile.
"Li-like I got h-hit with a b-bus," she told me and I chuckled a little. "L-listen, I-I want to t-tell you something," she muttered and I nodded.
"I was in that lane way hiding f-from my abu-abusive husband, he didn't like the f-face I was pregnant," she paused, panting. I held her hand in a sign of comfort.
"H-He will k-kill her if he fi-finds her," she cried looking at me. "I wa-want you to t-take her, keep her s-safe." I looked at her wide eyed. She smiled looking at me.
"Y-you seem t-to know what t-t-to do with kids, j-just please take her, and name her L-Lucia," she told me and I stared at her, I did something I didn't even expect. It was like someone automatically moved my head.
I agreed to take her daughter.
"Th-thank you," she smiled widely before her eyes slowly closed and her heart monitor went to a long beeping sound, causing me to run to get help, instantly doctors tried to get her back, but no luck.
I waited for Lucia's check up to be done, with tears building up in my eyes. A woman I didn't even know trusted me with her daughters life. Oh god, what will Bryce say? What will Lyon do? Hell, what am I doing?
A nurse came out with Lucia wrapped in a pink blanket with a yellow onesie with a pink hat. She smiled handing me the child.
"She's gonna be a great kid," she told me, handing me my bag of groceries too. I chuckled, thanking her.
I walked home with Lucia in one arm, and one hand holding the bag of groceries. I struggled to open the door to the apartment, but got it after awhile.
"There you are Mikey, we thought - " Bryce froze, the smile wiping off his face. Linden, Raegan, Jack, Jake, Justin, Jackson and Tyler looked at me, getting the vibe to leave, which they did. I put the bag down, then put Lucia in Lyon's play pen, while Lyon and Bryce watched me put her in there.
Lyon slowly walked over to the play pen, staring at the sleeping girl. Bryce stood there mad and confused.
"So a baby classifies as grocery shopping now?" Bryce asked, I shook my head looking at Lucia. I told Bryce the story, while Lyon was looking at the sleeping child.
"You took her anyway?" I nodded at Bryce's question.
"You didn't see the fear in that woman's eyes when she mentioned her husband, she loved Lucia, and she trusted me to take care of her, and I will fulfill that promise to her, if you like it or not, Lucia is a part of our family now Bryce, just like Lyon was two years ago, but Luce has a different story." Bryce walked over to me and kissed my cheek.
"I know Lucia is gonna be a great kid and a great sister to Lyon, and of course I am gonna be there right by your side to see her walk and talk," Bryce told me. My heart instantly warmed, as a smile came on my face.
"So you don't mind?" Bryce shook his head, shrugging.
"Just no more babies for a while," I chuckled agreeing with him. We both looked at our son staring at our new daughter.
