Tell me you love me

"What?" Sydney seemed to have received the shock of her life. She didn't even follow him outside, but Jo did.She ran to him and hugged him from behind. "So Saket.. Missed me?" she asked. Saket freed himself and turned around to face her, tears in his eyes. "Of course, you idiot! But..." just then Palash interrupted, "But he can't kiss you infront of your family. And i guess, me."

"I'm sorry Palash. I.. I.. didn't know how I, um, I am really fond of you, you know that." Jo said, crying. "Ah! Don't be. You belong with him. I guess all you guys need is some privacy. I'm with your parents, Joanne." he replied, "And congrats bro! Thanks for betraying me when I trusted you. You let me down, mate."

Saket started to defend himself but Palash walked away without another word, clearly defeated. Saket looked at his girl, and said, 'I would've broken a hundred promises to have you back, babe. But I prefer keeping one that makes you happy for life." Jo couldn't understand a thing. "What in the world is going on? What promise? How did you betray him? Can you explain?" she asked. "Some other day." he said, brushing her hair  and hugged her. Then, her forehead pressed against his, she said, "Tell me you love me."

"I do. I love you more than you can imagine. Took me a whole lot of crying and losing you and watching you with someone else to realize how much. I was dying every second. But you don't love Palash now, do you?" "I, um, i guess not."

The hesitation in that reply was more than enough. "I guess some questions can never be answered satisfactorily." He kissed her anyway. "I'm just glad to have you back. I'd almost lost all hopes. In fact, I'd actually given up. All this happened so unexpectedly."

She kissed him back without thinking. "I'm sorry for all that I put you through. I won't ever do it again, I swear." she said. "I won't leave you alone at all. With this handsome face in front of your eyes 24x7, it'll be a bit tough to forget me now." he joked.

"Awesome, may we have dinner together, tonight? Mr. Sharma?" "Are you asking me out on a date, Ms. Stewarts?" She laughed. "You may say so." "Well then. If a date is what you want, then a date is what it will be. The best date ever. I promise." he said.

It was. That Guy, I tell you. He did everything to make it special. It was their first date, and he made it absolutely memorable. Just the two of them at his house. They watched Frozen (Jo's favourite animated movie), ate many (many, i repeat, many) packets of oreos and drank Rio. "I thought you'd set up a date outside somewhere." she told him when he took her to his house where he'd already made arrangements. "And I thought you'd like this much better." he replied. How well he knew her.

She didn't Palash for almost a week after that day  She missed him, but she'd rather keep it well concealed within her heart. Besides, she had Saket.
