Chapter 32

McKenzie's POV

*2 days later| 2 AM*

I wake up to my phone ringing. I grab it while yawning and answer it not checking who it was. "Kenz?" I hear a crying Hunter. "Hey what's wrong?" I asks worryingly. "Brandon got hit by a car." He says crying even harder. I stare at the wall. "I'm buying a plane ticket and I'll be there as soon." I say throwing clothes in a bag and walking out of my house and into my car. "Kenz you don't..." Hunter starts but I cut him off. "Hunter it's not a matter of I want to it's a matter of I have to. Brandon is literally my little brother. If he is in the hospital I will fly out and be by his side as he fights through. I'll see you 12 at the latest." I sigh hanging up. I order a ticket online before pulling out of the driveway and making my way to the airport. I go through security and then go my gate. I post on Snapchat with the caption: Pray for Brandon. The flight attendant tells us to board the plane and I get up and give her my ticket. She gives it back to me with a small smile. I walk down the pull out walkway that leads to the plane and look for my seat.

I sit down and a girl with brown hair and blue tips sits next to me. I look at her weird. I've seen her before. "Do I know you from somewhere? You look really familiar..." I say taking in her facial features. She shakes her head no. "We've never meet." She says in an Australian accent. "I'm MacKenzie." I say with a small smile. "Savannah. But you can call me Savy. (sav-ee)" She smiles. "Nice to meet you." I smile. "So what's bringing you to Arizona?" She asks and then adds, "Other than this plane." I laugh and sigh. "My boyfriend's little brother got hit by a car." I say quietly. "Oh that's horrible. I hope he's okay." She says rubbing my arm. "Me too." I say even quieter. "Um. What about you? What brings you to Arizona?" I ask smiling. "I live there. I'm on my way home from spending time with my brother who lives in Cali." She smiles. "THAT'S WHY YOU LOOK SO FAMILIAR!!" I laugh. She looks at me confused. "Is your brother's name Tyler?" I ask looking at her. She nods and looks at me confused. "Me and Tyler are neighbors. I saw you when you came." I smile. She nods and laughs. "That's cool." She smiles. I nod. "Can I get your phone number?" I ask as the plane takes off. She nods and hands me my phone as I hand her mine. I put on my contact as: MacKenzie ✈. We talk the rest of the plane ride, getting to know each other. When we land I hug her. "Thank you for being my support system this whole time." I say into her shoulder. "Anytime. And don't forget to text me Brandon updates. I'll be waiting. And praying." She says. "I will." I sigh as we walk out off the plane. I didn't have a suitcase. Just a backpack full of clothes, I don't know how long I'm staying here. I text my mom and let her know. She responds with a k. Then I text Hunter asking him what hospital he was at. When he responds I call an Uber. When it arrives it takes me to the hospital. I thank the guy and u
run into the lobby to see Hunter, Christine and Ashton sitting and waiting. "Hunter." I say running over to him. His face lights up as he rubs to me and hugs me. "I'm glad you came." He says quietly. "I am too. How is Brandon?" I ask looking in his eyes. He shrugs and it's at that moment I notice his tear-stained face. "Christine me and Hunter are gonna go somewhere if you don't mind. Text us if you hear anything." I sigh looking at her for approval. She nods and mouths a thank you. I grab his hand and pull him out the hospital doors. "Wait Christine... Are we allowed to see him?" I ask looking at her. "Not yet. I'll text you when we can though." She says. I nod and continue dragging Hunter out the door. I look at him as we walk up the street. His eyes were glazed over with tears. "Baby..." I say looking at his eyes as a tear falls down his cheek. He hugs me tightly. "Babe don't cry. He'll be ok." I say trying to reassure him. He nods and hugs me tighter. "Lets go to Starbucks or something. Help you think of something else." I sigh rubbing his shoulder. "I know one way to distract myself." He laughs bitting his lip. I smirk and roll my eyes and put my arms around his neck. He bends down and picks me up at my knees. I squeal ad he lifts me up. I lean in and kiss him. "I love you." I whisper hugging him tightly. "I love you too." He sighs putting me down.
