Hunter's POV

I fiddle with the ring in my fingers. If Kenzie never wakes up, I'll never be happy again. I'll never be in love again. And if she does wake up, I won't hesitate to propose. I can't waste time. The nurse walks in to check on Kenzie. It was a new one this time, not someone I'd seen in however long we'd been in here. "You must be the boyfriend," She smiles at me. I nod. "I'm Raelynn," She smiles. "Hunter," I smile. She looks at the ring in my hand and smiles at me. "Is that for her?" She asks. I nod. "I decided why not waste time? Ya know. I lost my younger brother not that long ago and now here we are with her. Why wait until we are older when we can get engaged now," I sigh as I put the ring back in the box. She smiles at me. "I like the way you look at things," She smiles. She does a checkup and then walks out. 

-3 hours later-

I couldn't see as tears poured down my face. My anxiety hit, the reality of the possibility she would never come back hit and it got too much. I look at myself in the mirror, my face was red, my eyes puffy, and my hands shaking. The box with the ring sat on the counter, open. I looked at the gem, it shined in the light. I hear a raspy voice from the other room. I rush out, grabbing the box, closing it and shoving it into my pocket. I look at the hospital bed to see Kenzie's eyes open. "I will." Her voice was quiet, barely audible. "You will?" I ask, looking at her confused. "I will marry you," She smiles a small smile. I rush over to her and place my lips on hers. A nurse rushes in and smiles at us. "I love you," I whispered to Kenzie. "I love you too," She whispered back.
