Ever since Marc asked me out on a date on Monday, time couldn't have passed any slower. At home, we can't do anything that would suggest something's going on between us and at school we don't want to do anything like that as we don't want to start any rumors that might reach my dad's ears. So for the past 3½ days, I've been trying to pretend like everything is normal, which has proven to be really hard. Especially when Marc loves teasing me. Like last night for example, when he walks around shirtless before going to bed. Or when he helps my dad getting some heavy boxes from the car and flexes his muscles just a little more than necessary.
But today the day has finally come. Today is the day Marc and I will be having our date. After school, Makayla came home with me to help me get ready. Though I have no idea where Marc is as he told me not to wait for him after school.
"So, where are you going?" Makayla asks as she goes through my closet.
"I have no idea," I say honestly. Marc hasn't said a word about what we're going to do or where we're going for that matter. Which makes picking an outfit really hard.
"And you don't know what you're either?"
"No idea, Marc hasn't said a word."
"That sucks."
"It does, that's why you're here."
"I'd say something cute but comfy."
"That's what I was thinking as well. But I just don't know what."
"Give me a few minutes," Makayla tells me before she starts searching through my clothes.
"No dress," I quickly tell her before she picks something out, knowing that Makayla loves dresses just a little too much.
"I wasn't going to pick a dress."
"Sure you weren't."
"How about a skirt?"
"Nope, because I don't know what we're going to do. For all I know we're going to do something active and then a skirt is not a good idea."
"That's true," Makayla says as she continues looking through my clothes.
"How about this?" she asks after a little while as she holds up a pair of jeans and a comfy looking sweater.
"I like that! It's cute and comfy!"
"Great! Now for accessories, I was thinking a long necklace?"
"Yeah, that sounds good. And some sneakers underneath?"
"That's perfect I think."
"Awesome, thank you Makayla!"
"No problem girl. Now get changed quickly so I can do your hair and make-up."
"Okay, okay," I say as I take the clothes from her and put them on.
"You look great! Now let me do your make up!"
"Don't do anything too fancy though, it's just a casual date."
"Don't worry about it, let me work my magic," Makayla tells me as I sit down. I chuckle and don't say anything else whilst I let Makayla 'work her magic', as she calls it.
"And done!" Makayla says after a while as she holds up a mirror in front of me, letting me see how I look.
"Oh I like it!"
"How do you want your hair?"
"Just down I guess."
"Okay, let me just brush it then."
