"The way I see it, love is like art. Some is beautiful, some isn't. Some is clear and some is confusing. And some is just like a masterpiece. It's just that special. Everyone knows it's that special and everyone wants a love like that. But only a few can have. We are two of the lucky ones who have it Alexa."
As I make my way back home, I try to grasp the fact that Marc and I will be running away together. Marc told me he'd search for a place to go. We'll be taking my car as he's just borrowing his parents' car. All I have to do is pack a bag and say goodbye to everything I've ever known. No biggie.
I park my car in front of the house and make my way inside. I purposely avoid the living room, where my parents probably are, and directly go upstairs to my room. I decide to start packing already as I have no idea when Marc wants to leave. I grab my big suitcase out of the spare room and start packing my clothes. I start by packing the clothes I wear the most and once those are in, I start packing the ones I like to wear as well, but not as much. Once my suitcase is full, I close it and put it under my bed. I left out some clothes that I can wear until we leave. I grab another bag and start putting my toiletries in there, along with my make-up and some other beauty items. The last things I pack are my drawing things.
I don't know why I'm already packing everything, but for some reason I feel like Marc will arrange everything pretty quick. I realize that I should probably tell Makayla what's going to happen and I grab my phone to call her.
"Hey!" she says once she picks up.
"Hey girl, I have to tell you something."
"What is it? It sounds important."
"It is. I talked to Marc earlier and we made a decision about what we're going to do."
"Okay and what's that?"
"We're running away together."
"What?!" Makayla exclaims in shock, "are you crazy?"
"No, we're not. We've talked about it and we know it's extreme, but we want to be together Makayla and my dad will never let us."
"But running way, isn't that a little too extreme?"
"Maybe, but we don't see any other option right now," I explain and Makayla sighs, probably trying to understand us.
"You know I love you and I support you, so even though this seems a little too much to me, I'll help you with whatever you need."
"You're the best."
"And don't you forget it. So, can I help with anything?"
"Yeah, but you can't do it right now. It's just...., can you please tell Mrs. Johnson I'm really grateful she gave me the opportunity and that I would've loved to follow the program?"
"Wait, you got in?"
"Yeah, I did. She sent me an email earlier tonight."
"That's amazing! Congratulations! Such a shame you won't be able to go though."
"Yeah, well that's how it is. Marc promised me he'd get me into the best art program there is though."
"He's such a sweetheart," Makayla sighs and I laugh at her, though fully agreeing with her.
"I know."
"Where will you be going though?"
"I don't know. Marc is taking care of that."
"It's like a honeymoon!"
"What?"
"Well, when you're going on a honeymoon, it's usually a surprise as well. So this is just like a honeymoon as you don't know where you'll be going and after this, you'll be spending the rest of your life with Marc. At least, you better," Makayla says, making me laugh.
