the world is crashing all around me, falling apart at my feet. laughter tastes bitter and smiling feels foreign. getting out of bed feels like a chore, talking to others gives me anxiety like an essay I can't make myself write. people as me what I believe and I say I believe in nothing. like salt on an open wound my soul screams to feel something; anything but nothing at all.
when he walks into a room my aching heart begins to sing. his laughter is the song and it gives me life like the flowers bloom in the spring. vivid colors in his eyes like a sunset and I memorize the way he looks at me, something I would write a novel about. he touches me and I come alive. yet I am still not sure if I feel anything at all, but I know I start to believe again.
