i didn't want to write a love poem
of you for you in you or at you
(i hope it's not at you) i wanted to
sit on the patio and shell peas
in sunshine that is lemondrop yellowi didn't want to write a love poem
for you in you of you from you
(i hope it's sweet like honey on your fingers)
i wanted to have a bee linger in my palm
and feel its sticky legs dark as velvet
in its flowery complexion (she really was pretty)i didn't want to write a love poem
in you at you of you or for you darling
(i hope it sits like soft petals in your stomach i do)
i wanted to eat the berries from their branches like the black birds do
and smell of lavender like my pillows
were in rainy july timesi didn't want to write a love poem
of you in you for you and at you
of your baby blueness for your cosy cluelessness
i wanted to be as light as light right as rain
sweet and baby new oh yes it's true(24/10/2017)
