Chapter 9

**2 weeks later**

GRAYSONS POV

I sit in the hospital room where Anika is on the hospital bed. She has been in a coma for the past 2 weeks. Ive visited her everyday but she hasnt woken up. Im really scared. I dont want anything to happen to her. I love her and she knows. She cant leave me now. I grab her hand amd gently squeeze it. She doesnt squeeze it back but i wasnt expecting her to. I put my hand to her face and carress her cheek with my thumb. I trace around her freckles feeling her soft skin under my finger tips. I grab a cup of water and water the flowers in her room. Ethan and Savera return with a bag of KFC. "Grayson, i think you need to go home and have some rest, youve been here since yesterday and youre starting to smell" Ethan says to me. Hes right, i do stink but i cant just leave Anika i think to myself. "Shes not going anywhere Gray, dont worry about it, Eth and I will stay with her while you get some rest" Savera says giving me a comforting smile. I grab my things and head home.

I pull into my driveway and open the door. My parents werent home but its because technically they dont live here but they only visit. They often stay for a while but then go on business trips so we usually have the house to ourselves. I grab a towel from the linen cupboard and jump in the shower. All i can think about is Anika. I dont know how she is right now, if shes waken up, if shes still alive-Grayson stop thinking like that i say to myself. I feel tears stream down my face. I love her so much and i dont want to lose her. I turn the shower off and step onto the mat. I grab my towel and head to my room. I get dressed and call Ethan. He answers "Hey, how is she?" I ask. "The nurse just came and told us shes doing really well. She said that Anika had a stroke and lost alot of blood. They gave her some meds which will help her regain consciousness, the nurse said she should wake up by next week". "Well i hope she gets better, ill come by tomorrow morning because i dont have any classes." I say. "Ill be home soon, Saveras staying the night here just in case she wakes up" He says. "See ya bro" i say before hanging up. I sink into my bed and rap the sheets around me. I close my eyes knowing that Anika is okay now. I rest easy and drift off letting my mind sleep.

ANIKAS POV

I try to open my eyes but a bright light keeps them shut. Damn, did i miss my alarm again? I think as my eyes flicker open. My vision is quite blurry and i cant really see anything. BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, wtf is that? I think to myself. Must be my alarm. I finally manage to open my eyes. I rub the sleep from my eyes and open them with clearer vision. WTF?! WHERE AM I?!?! I shout. I see Savera curdled up on a chair, asleep. She jolts awake when she hears my screams. "ANIKA!!!!!!" She runs up to me and wraps me in the tightest hug. I look at her confused but then i pull away and look around. "Am i in hospital?" I ask her. "Yea, you had a stroke and you have been in a coma for 2 weeks" she says. I look at her with a shocked expression.

 "Wheres Grayson?" And as if jesus was listening, Grayson walks in the room. He looks at me and drops  his bag of Mcdonalds takeaway. A huge grin spreads on his face. He runs up to me and also squeezes me in a tight hug. I embrace his masculine arms holding my waste. He is the best hugger i have to admit. I rest my head on his shoulder and i feel his face form a smile. Hes so cute when hes happy. He picks up the food and hands Savera and i pancakes in a plastic box. I LOVE Mcdonalds pancakes i say as i sit up to eat. I go to grab a knife and fork, butter and syrup but Grayson stops me. "Woah, woah, you need to rest, let me do it" he says to me grabbing the cutlery, butter and syrup. "Awww thanks, your so sweet" i say squishing his cheeks. He butters the pancakes and drizzles the syrup, perfectly over each pancake. He then cuts it into small peices so its easier to eat. "How did you know thats how i like my pancakes?" I ask him suprised, "i have my pancakes the same" he says "TWINS!!!" Savera screams. We burst out laughing and stuff our faces with pancakes.

Savera has a few classes so she has to leave. Grayson sits at the end of the bed finishing my pancakes. He hands me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I can smell them from far away. "Awww thanks Grayson, they look and smell beautiful"i say giving him a peck on the cheek. He blushes and smiles at me. I look deep into his beautiful eyes. "Grayson, when you told me you loved me, i wasnt expecting it, i didnt mean to hurt you in any way. I can sometimes be really dramatic and emotional about things without even knowing. Im so sorry, i must have been so awkward towards you. But on a serious note,  I just wanted to say that... i pause for a second and look deeper into his eyes as he stares right into mine, holding my hands gently squezzing them, I just wanted to say that, I love you too. A grin spreads on his face.  He pulls me close to him and his lips meet mine. He doesnt hesitate and neither do i. We both lean in. The kiss is passionate and amazing. This is my first kiss and im glad it was with grayson. He kisses me deeper which snds chills down my body. I pull away to catch my breath. "Youre a pretty good kisser" he says grinning. I beam back at him. It felt so good to finally tell him about my feelings. I have never felt this affection to ajyone in my life before and inguess i just didnt kjwo how to express them. Lucky for me though, Gray is a great 'friend' who understands me. He pulls down the blanket and hops into the bed with me. He pulls me close to his chest. I rest my head in the crook of his neck as he wraps his arms around me. We both drift off to sleep, in each others arms. I feel so comfortable when he is around, i feel safe.
