Charlyze's POV

I was shocked when the Alpha embraced me. He held me for short while and kissed the top of my head before letting me go with a cheeky grin. I could feel my cheeks heating up.

"What is your name little one?" he asked smiling.

     "Charlyze," I answered hesitantly.

"Beautiful!" he chirped happily. I had never encountered an Alpha who were like him. Maybe he isn't an alpha, I thought to myself silently and offered a half-smile.

"Want to go grab something to eat?" he asked while looking at the watch on his wrist.

"It's ok, thanks for the offer but I just ate. I have to go now," I said slowly, hoping he would just let me go.

     "Where are you heading?"

     "To my house."

     "Where do you live?"

"In my pack territory, of course," I snapped. I did not want him to know that I live alone in human residential area so I lied.

"Of course," he said with a gentle smile that made me regretted my harsh tone. I smiled back at him.

" I want your phone number Charlyze," he took out his phone and starting to press some buttons on it.

I hesitated for a while. "Is it too much to ask?" He frowned.

"What if I refuse to give strangers my number?"

"My name is Darriel and I am the Alpha of the NightShadow Pack. Now you know me and we are not strangers anymore. Are you satisfied or do you want to know more about me? Perhaps more juicy details?" He cocked one of his eyebrows mockingly. I couldn't stop blushing so I tried to hide it by pretending to search my handphone in my tote bag. There is nothing in the big bag except my purse, a novel and my handphone.

I gave him my number and punched his number in my old handphone. He looked happy and told me he would write me a message later and asked me to go home safely.

"If you come across wolves from other pack, tell them that you are under my protection." he said seriously. I just nodded in agreement. The NightShadow Pack was well-known for having the a lot of great  fighters so practically nobody in our world would want to mess around with a member of their of their pack.

He glanced again at his watch and apologized that he couldn't stay. I just said it's ok and watched him leave. It was a weird meeting, an Alpha who didn't really behaved like an alpha. If only I have a bestfriend to share this I thought to myself and smiled sadly.

I continued to walk until I almost reached my house. Suddenly my senses were on alert and I turned to the location that gave me the strange vibe. It was the house on the end of the road. Even though it was a bit further away, I could still  focus on the slightly opened window. I could see a silhouette of a manly figure standing there, perhaps looking at me. I sniffed the air again to catch his scent. Not a human!
