Chapter 12 - The Prophecy.

Darriel barked at his brother in anger, "Why did you disrespect your mate?"

"Why do you care? Do you want her?" Talon smirked. He knew that James would tell on him, the traitor.

Darriel grabbed Talon's collar with his fist, "don't test me."

"Fine, fine. I wanted her to hate me so that it will be easier for her to accept my rejection." He declared, then glared at James who was trying to hide his grin, while mouthing 'I- hate- you'. James stuck out his tongue at him and winked.

"Don't you have any feelings at all towards her? Is your heart made of stone? Don't play with other people's feeling OK? For god's sake she's your mate!" Darriel reminded him sharply.

"I know bro, there is a pull there, a definite pull. But I don't like girls and you know that." He said sharply.

Darriel released his collar while mumbling, "I thought you're just experimenting."

He rubbed his temples. He knew that his brother had never dated a girl - ever. Talon had been with a few guy wolves but Darriel thought they were just drinking buddies. He had no problem with guys being gay, his Gamma mated to a guy and they were both happy. As long as he is happy, he thought to himself.

Talon chuckled, "I've been with Luke for 4 years now. He found his mate and rejected her for me, shouldn't I do the same?"

"But you don't mark each other, I thought..."

"Brother, I just waited to find my mate and reject her or him properly before I stake my claim on Luke. That's the only gentlemanly way to do."

James coughed, " Um.. talking about stake, I think we should start preparing for video conference with the Packs Council with our finding."

"Yes.. James, I need you and Talon to be in-charged here."

"Javier can be in-charged." James offered. Javier was their Gamma/ Third In Command, so he was more than capable of running the pack when the Alpha and the Beta was not around.

"He's not available. I gave him a personal mission and don't you guys dare questioning me!" Darriel warned when he saw James' left brow cocked as he usually did when he wanted to speak his mind.

Darriel leaned towards his brother and planted a quick slobbery kiss on his forehead. Talon quickly wiped the excess saliva on his forehead, complaining, "yuck! You are always the worst kisser, bro. Pity whoever decided to be your Luna."

Darriel smacked his brother playfully while grinning, "it's intentional."

"Love you bro, " was all Talon said as he closed his eyes to rest a bit.

"Get well fast, that's an order." He said as he waved goodbye to James.

Hunter suddenly awoke to a weird feeling of distress. No. A feeling of sadness and emptiness. He tried frantically to search for Charlyze by using a path that had been opened to him yesterday. After a few minutes of searching, he found the telepathic trail.

Charlyze?

He could almost feel a slight hesitation on her side before she answered, Hunter?

Yes, it's me. Are you okay? I could feel too much sadness coming from you. Whereareyou? Let me come to you.

I'm OK, I'm traveling a bit right now.
