Charlyze's POV

I was heading home from the bookshop where I worked as a bookeeper when I caught a delicious smell of cinnamon and musk. I looked around to see who was the owner of the scent, then I saw HIM slow-jogging towards me. He stopped the jog and started to walk instead. There was an aura of superiority about him that I just couldn't ignore and suddenly it hit me, Stars! He's an Alpha!

I semi-hated Alphas, I know how demanding and controlling they could be, even to those who weren't in their pack. I looked down while walking, in a submissive and respectful way, and hoped that he would ignore me. As he got closer, his formidable aura dominated my wolf and I started to physically shaken.

"Stop!" He said to me in a commanding voice. I stopped almost instantly and bowed even lower. I even felt like peeing on the street at that very moment.

"Why are you so nervous, little one?" he asked in a curious voice, much softer than earlier, which made him sound oh-so-irresistable.

As my brain tried to form an answer, he cupped my chin and raised my face to meet his stare. I had to stand on a tiptoe just to be able to see him face to face and I knew that he bent quite a lot to see me but when our gazes met, all I could breathe out was, "Oh, my.. "

Well, 'Oh my' was an understatement. I could see that he was tall and muscular from afar but up close, he had the most mesmerizing crystal green eyes I ever gazed into. He grinned when he heard that and quickly pulled away his hand from my chin.

"Oh my yourself," he offered with that happy grin still plastered on his perfectly chiseled face.

I blushed furiously and lowered my gaze. "I am sorry, Alpha," I whispered slowly but I knew he could hear it.

"Let me try to understand you... you're sorry for making this day my best day ever?" He said teasingly. Somehow his lighter mood and teasing seem to calm me and my wolf down so we weren't as nervous. I summoned my courage and looked up to smile at him.

Darriel's POV

When the petite girl smiled at me, I felt my heart skipped a beat. She had the most beautiful smile and her large eyes were violet. I noticed that her skin was flawless and as smooth as porcelain and she was not wearing any make up on. Her long black hair had some messy brown highlights here and there which made her look adorable. She wore a plain gray T-shirt, a pair of blue jeans and a comfortable looking pair of sneakers but how could she stood out from everything else?

She wasn't the right size for an adult werewolf. The average height range of female wolves were usually from 5'5", which are very rare, to 6'. The males are usually very tall and I myself stood 6'4" in my barefoot. Her frame was too small and delicate and only now I realised that her scent was not really right for a normal werewolf.

"Do you have the puny human blood in your bloodline?" I demanded from her.

She looked hurt, her eyes were pooling with tears and she bit her lower lip to suppress her feeling.

I regretted my question and pulled her in my arms, "I'm sorry little one if that is unpleasant for you."

When I hugged her I felt that my wolf was purring. I knew instantly that from that day onwards, I will cherish her and protect her forever. I would certainly fight and die for her.

The only problem was, she was not my destined mate.
