“Kate!!!”
I heard someone yell from the outside my hotel room. I was currently having coffee that time. Allie and Nikki dragged me along to their shopping spree yesterday and we got back to the hotel really late. As in, REALLY late. When they said shopping spree, they meant it. Every. Single. Word. As soon as we got back, I attacked my bed and fell into a really deep sleep.
I woke up around 10 in the morning, took a bath, and had coffee.
“Coming!” I yelled.
I walked over to the door, opened it, and got greeted with a very loud “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”. Oh. Yeah. I forgot the part where I get a year older on this day… I looked around and saw Nikki, Allie, Josh, Zayn, and to my surprise, Scott and Grant. I thanked all of them and gave them hugs.
“Hey! Let’s go out for lunch.” Josh invited.
We did. We had lunch at a restaurant near the hotel, then Zayn and Nikki bid me goodbye.
“What? You’re leaving me?” I asked, bewildered.
“Sorry, babe. I promised Zayn we’d stop by this art gallery that we saw on our way here.” Nikki apologized. “Apparently, today’s their last working day before they go on holiday.”
“It’s cool. Go. I know how you guys are with those kind off stuff.”
“Really? Thanks, Kate. We’ll make it up to you tonight.” Zayn said.
“Sure. Sure.”
“Bye Kate! Happy birthday!”Then they were off. I looked at Allie, Josh, Grant and Scott.
“What are we doing now?” I asked.
“It’s your birthday, babe. It’s your call.” Scott answered.
“Hmm… Anyone in the mood to go skiing?”
“Yes!” Grant and Scott chorused.
“Uhh…” Allie trailed off.
“Why? What’s wrong?” I asked Allie.
“Can we stay at the cafe instead?” Josh answered for Allie. “The three of you go skiing, we’ll wait for you there.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah.”The five of us drove over to the hill. Scott, Grant and I geared up, while Allie and Josh walked over to the cafe by the cable cars. Instead of actually snowboarding, the guys thought it was better to just skate and snowball fight. That’s exactly what we did. We looked a whole lot stupid next to the kids who were snowball fighting. As the sun set, we were dead tired. We managed to stumble our way to the cafe, but apparently, Josh and Allie went back to the hotel. We rode Grant’s car and drove over to the hotel. Halfway there, my phone rang. I took it out of my coat pocket and answered without looking at who it was.
“Hello?” I picked up.
“Heeyyy Katiee Baybehh. Happy birthday!” It sounded like a drunk Harry Styles.Yes. Harry Styles. To be honest, being friends with Zayn Malik has its perks. One, backstage passes to their concerts and two, being friends with the whole group.
“Thanks Hazza.” I laughed. “Are you drunk?”
“No. Groggy, maybe. Dizzy, absolutely. But drunk, definitely… Not.” Harry laughed. “Anyway, here’s Nail File and Ian.”
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” Niall and Liam chorused.
“Thanks Nialler! Thanks Daddy D.” I chuckled.
“Here’s uhh… Here’s Chewy.” Niall answered.
“Hey Louehh!”
“Hey Katiieee. Happy birthday!” Louis greeted.
“Thanks, Louis. Wish you were here…”
“So do we, babe. We miss you guys so much.”
“We miss you too.”
“Anyway, we gotta go. Call you later?”
“Yeah, yeah. Sure.”
“BYE KATIE! LOVE YOU!” the four of them chorused.
“Bye guys. Love you too!”Then I hung up. As soon as I did, we were pulling in at the hotel’s parking lot.
“You guys wanna come up for coffee or tea?” I offered.
“Nah. It’s ok-” Scott started, but Grant cut him off.
“That would be lovely.” Grant answered.
“Let’s go then.”
