A.N.: I FEEL LIKE IT'S TOO SHORT AN ENDING... BUT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PROLONG IT... THINKING OF ADDING AN EPILOGUE... SHOULD I? COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS AND VIOLENT REACTIONS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND WOULD BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. =) -K
“Could you just sit down and stop staring at each other? There are other cable cars that need to be filled, y’know?” The grumpy operator said.
“Sorry.” Grant said and slipped in beside me.The cable car started moving. I still can’t believe he’s here. He seemed calm about it, though. As if he really was expecting to see me here. Grant smiled my favorite smile of his that never failed to get me weak at the knees.
“Hey, love.” He greeted.
I missed him so much that the sight of him and the sound of his voice made me cry. Realizations are creeping in. Now I’m sure that I really can’t live without him anymore…
“Hey. Hey, don’t cry.” Grant soothed, hugging me tight and kissing the top of my head.
“I can’t believe you’re here.” I stuttered. As soon as I’ve calmed down, he let go of me, cupped my face and leaned in for a kiss. I kissed him back, really missing every bit of him.
“I missed you.” Grant started. “The time we’ve been apart made me really sure that you’re the one and that I really can’t live without you anymore.”
“I feel the same way, babe. I ca-” I said, but he cut me off with a kiss.
“Shh.. I’m not done. I really really can’t stand being away from you anymore. So, will you run away with me? Be mine forever?”He fished through his jacket pocket, got out a little box, opened it up, and held out a beautiful diamond ring. My mouth hung open.
“Wait… You seemed really prepared and shit.” I said, stalling time ‘cause everything caught me by surprise and I can’t think straight. “How did you even know I’d be here?”
“Babe, we go here every year, that’s nothing new. Second, I wasn’t sure you’d be here, but I was hoping. Third, I’ve had the ring inside my pocket for the last month, just in case we cross paths. Fourth, I think you’re giving me the twenty questions just to buy you more time to think. So, will you be my Mrs. Gustin? Yes or no?”
“Or.” I teased.
“Not an option.”
“Is that even a question? Of course I will, goofball.”I hugged him really really tight, and let go. He put the ring on me, and leaned in to give me a quick kiss on the lips. He laced my hand in his, I rested my head on his shoulder, and we stayed like that for the rest of the ride. As we reached the end, we got down, and we walked hand in hand. A few steps later, we saw Dani and Liam. They looked surprised to see Grant and I together, but then they smiled at us.
“Hey, Grant. Nice to see you again, man.” Liam greeted as we were two steps away from them.
“It’s nicer to see you two together.” Dani smiled at us.
“Hey Danielle. Hey Liam. Nice to see you two as well.” Grant answered.
“Where’s everyone else?” I asked.
“They’re waiting for us at the cafe. Let’s go?” Liam said.
“Yeah.”We walked over to the cafe, and met up with the whole gang. As we got inside, and as soon as they saw Grant and I, their faces were a mix of emotions.
“Hey guys. Look who I found on my way back.” I smiled at them.
They greeted Grant and catched up with him for a bit. Grant then looked at me, and then at the ring on my finger which I almost forgot about. I looked at him, as if saying ‘should we tell them?’. He answered my unspoken question with a smile and a nod towards our friends.
“Guys. I’ve got something to tell you.” I said, calling their attention.
“What is it?” A chorus of voices answered.I looked at Grant he smiled my favorite smile of his and I saw his gorgeous eyes sparkling.
I held my hand with the ring up as Grant and I chorused.
“We’re getting married."
