“Two hot chocolates and two slices of blueberry cheesecake, right?” The cashier asked.

“Uhh. No. One blueberry cheesecake, one carrot cake.” I corrected.

“Oops. Sorry.”

“Kate, could you go find seats for us while I pay for these?” Scott asked.

“Sure, loser.” I grinned at him and walked away.

I walked around the cafe and found a spot in the corner of the store. I took a seat, and waited for Scott.

Around two minutes later, I saw him walking over to me. He was talking to someone on the phone.

“You gotta meet her, man… Really?…” He said into the phone as he set the food tray down on our table. “Cool… We’re here at the cafe… Bye.”

I looked at him intently, shook it off and engaged into conversation with Scott.

“Yeah. I’d choose The Warblers over New Directions any day.” Scott said, biting into his cake.

We’ve been talking for around half an hour already. Like I said, he was really easy to talk to, and stuff.

“I know, right?” I exclaimed, genuinely agreeing. “I mean, it would definitely gain so much more viewers if the show focuses on the Warblers!”

“I agree.” I heard a male voice say from behind me.

I turned to look at him.

“Grant! What are you doing here?” I asked, much too giddy ‘cause I’ve been enjoying talking to Scott so much.

“You guys know each other?” Grant and Scott chorused, looking at me.

Being all hyper, I find everything absolutely funny. So, as usual, I was once again laughing my ass off, hysterically. The next thing I knew was that Grant and Scott were laughing as well.

When we had it in us to calm down, we did. And then Grant took a seat next to me.

“Seriously, this time. You guys know each other?” Scott asked.

“Well, yeah. I bumped into him earlier.” I answered.

“We literally bumped into each other.” Grant added, chuckling. “How did you two meet?”

“Got her as my seat mate at the cable cars.” Scott said point blank.

“How did you two meet?” I asked this time.

“He’s my best friend!” They chorused.

Once again, we were all in fits of uncontrollable laughter.

-MEANWHILE-

“No. It’s either we leave early in the morning, or really late in the evening.” Josh said.

“Huh. Why?” Nikki asked.

“To avoid traffic.” Allie answered.

“Oh…”

Zayn’s phone rang. He removed his right arm from Nikki’s shoulder, reached into his pocket and took his iPhone out.

“Hello?” He answered.

Everyone else went back to chatting about their trip back home.

“Hey, man. How’s it going?” It was Louis.

“Hey Louehh.” Zayn greeted back.

“We’re flying out to San Francisco tomorrow. Pick us up at 6?”

“Huh? Why?”

“Dude, it’s our girl Kate’s birthday. I thought you had a surprise party for her?”

“Really?”

“Yeah. Allie called us up yesterday.”

“Oh! Yeah. Yeah. Sure.”

“Okay? See you tomorrow, man.”

“Sure. Bye Lou.”

Zayn hung up, put the phone back in his pocket, and looked at Allie, Nikki and Josh.

“We’re having a surprise party for Kate?” Zayn asked, confused.

“You didn’t tell him?!” Allie accused Nikki.

Nikki facepalmed and said “I forgot.”

“Mind telling me all about it now?” Zayn asked.

Allie, Nikki and Josh discussed the things that are supposed to happen. It wasn’t much. Just a normal night out at the club. Normal, except for the fact that the rest of One Direction is flying in for that party and that they rented the whole pub for the party. Drinking, dancing, and hangovers. That was the plan.

“I see…” Zayn murmured. “Why don’t we invite her new friend? Scott, was it?”

“Yeah. That would be cool.” Josh answered.

“I don’t know if I should be worried or happy about it, but what if they become more than friends and stuff?” Nikki asked.

“Well, that’s good. For her. I guess. I mean, she’s not going to be the odd one out anymore.” Allie added. “And we could use Scott to distract Kate tomorrow while we prepare the pub…”

They finalized the plan, finished their lunch, and Nikki rang up Kate’s phone and put her on speaker mode so that the whole gang could hear her.

“Hello?” Kate answered.

“Katie, where are you?” Nikki asked.

“Still at the cafe with Scott and Grant. Why?”

“Grant?” Josh mouthed, Allie shrugged.

“Nothing. Okay. Bye.” Nikki bid and hung up. She looked at the others and said “Let’s go?”

They stood up at the same time, and walked out of the restaurant’s door. Josh laced his hand with Allie’s while Zayn wrapped his arm around Nikki’s waist. They walked towards the cafe with a cause. After a little while, they arrived. They all went in to look for Kate and found her seated at the corner of the shop with Scott and Grant. The three of them were talking animatedly about American Idol or something when Allie stepped in.

“Hey, boys. Mind if we borrow our girl?” Allie said.

“Wha-?” Kate asked, confused.

“Sure, Al.” Scott smiled.

Allie pulled up a very confused Kate from her chair and dragged her away. Zayn and Josh took her place at the table and started talking to Scott and Grant about the plan.

“What’s going on?” Kate asked as they got out of the cafe.

“We’re going shopping!” Nikki exclaimed.

“Shopping? Seriously?”

“Well, yeah.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Your opinion doesn’t really matter. And don’t even bother trying to run away, I’ll just drag you back out.” Allie smirked.

“Ugh! Fine.” Kate gave up.
