i put on my new sneakers as i waited on allen. uncle jaren had already left for work, so he told us to make sure we lock the door when we leave.

allen happily ran down the stairs, grinning at me like a child. i scrunched my face up and spoke.

"why is you happy?" i asked him "hate school." i mumbled

"i have a reputation to up keep, girls to keep in check." he said as he grabbed his bookbag.

"scholarships to worry about." i said as we walked to the front door. "something i wish i had."

"yo, liyah quit tripping ight?" he began "you can achieve and go to college, just apply yourself. focus." he said as he opened the door for me

"thanks, i guess." i said as he closed the door behind him and we walked to his car.

"i'm serious, promise me you'll try." he said as we got in the car

"okay okay." i said

"okay what?" he asked with a smug look on his face

"i will try."

we pulled into the student parking lot of the school. i got out the car and sighed.

"back to this s-"

"shit." pac said from behind me. i turned around and smiled at him as he hugged me.

"look whose back." he smirked

"yeah yeah." i smiled weakly.

allen walked to pac and dapped him up. they began talking and i directed my attention to dino, who was walking over to us. i was in a daze, he looked so fine and i haven't even been gone that long.

"aaliyah." he said as he snapped his fingers in my face.

"uh oh i'm sorry." i said, chuckling nervously

"it's cool, where you been?" he asked me

"uh with my uncle." i said, avoiding eye contact

"pac told you about h-"

"yes, i ran into her and satan at the mall. she tried to apologize, but i don't do fake shit."

he nodded and spoke "that's understandable." he said

"it's a fucking reunion." shazam
laughed as he walked up to us

"sup babydoll." he smiled

"sup shazam." i began "where's ya girl?"

"i don't know." he shrugged

pac and allen came over to us and they began to talk about basketball season. i looked into the multiple crowds of kids, socializing and i seen halle.
