Chapter 13 : Envy

Jens POV:

I ring the doorbell to Nicholas's home.

He answers with a smile.

"Someone looks beautiful," Nicholas says.

He leans in and kisses me.

Once again I compare the kiss to the kiss I shared with Josh and it doesn't live up.

"Right this way please," He tells me.

Nicholas leads me to the dining room where theirs a table of pizza and candles.

I'm about to sit down when I get a text message.

I look down and gasp.

"What's wrong?" Nicholas asks alarmed by my reaction.

"Josh is in the hospital!" I say nervously.

"Okay stay calm, lets go," Nicholas says, but I can tell he's not very happy at all about leaving to find Josh.

We arrive at the hospital and head down to Josh's room.

I gasp as we find him with his left leg elevated, a cast on it.

"Oh my god," I say kneeling to Josh.

Nicholas glares at him when I kneel down.

"Josh, are you okay?" I ask him softly.

He nods.

"I'm fine now," He says in a whisper so low Nicholas can't hear.

I smile at him and stand back up when the doctor enters.

"Hello. Are you two hear to take care of Josh?" The Doctor asks.

Nicholas and I exchange glances.

"What do you mean?" Nicholas asks.

"Well Josh needs someone to take care of him," The doctor explains.

"I'll do it," I say volunteering.

"Okay you'll have to stay with him 24 hours so if you have a guest room or something," the doctor begins.

"Yes ill take care of it."

Nicholas gives me a dark look.

"Jennifer, may I please speak with you outside?" He asks through gritted teeth.

I sigh but nod as we head to the hallway.

"What the hell are you doing now!" Nicholas asks fuming.

"I'm helping Josh! His family's in Kentucky!" I tell him.

"Remember last time you two had a sleep over," Nicholas says.

That gets me mad.

"We were DRUNK, Nicholas, DRUNK! I thought you said you trust me," I holler.

"I trust YOU, not HIM!" He shouts back.

"His leg is broken what can we do?!" I scream my face hot red.

Nicholas shakes his head and storms out.

It kills me that if Josh wasn't injured, we'd still be sleeping together. Proving Nicholas right.
