A Pathetic Noise

Grillby

I was walking across the street to my house when I heard an extremely pathetic noise. And... that voice... Gaster! There was a terrible storm raging and I was struggling to keep my flame alive. The wind was howling and threatening to put me out.

"GASTER!!!!!"

"Grillby?" came the weak sound of his voice. I had no clue what he was saying, but it sounded like a question.

"Uh, yes, Dings, everything's ok, I'm coming, where are you?"

I could hear him coughing. It was coming from the side of a building. I followed the sound.

"Gaster?" There's no answer. "Gaster!"

He was lying there, on the ground, shivering very, very hard.

"GASTER!"

Oh no. He was out cold. Damn it, he'd probably be laughing at me right now. Cold. Gaster. You'd be laughing so hard, Dings.

"Gaster! Gaster! GASTER!" I continued yelling. I started to cough quietly. Damn, the storm is getting to me. I'm gonna die if I don't get indoors soon, but I've gotta help Gaster. His HP was really low, and mine was slowly going down, too.

"Help! Someone!!! Anyone!!"

* You called for help.

* But no one came.

The coughs became stronger. "Gaster, I'm gonna pick you up, 'kay?" It was violent now. I was having trouble breathing. Damn, my flame is going out.

I picked up Gaster and slowly began trudging through the snow. The storm was so bad, I could barely see, and the wind was howling so loudly I knew no one would hear my calls for help, but still, I called.

The wind was putting me out, and there was nothing I could do about it. We were gonna die. "HELP!! SOMEBODY! ANYBODY!" I continued to cough.

I think my house is this way. Damn. I don't even know where we are. I slowly moved in the direction I thought my house was in. I saw a light! Just a little further... You can do it, Grillby! Come on! Almost... there. I reached the door of my house. I began to fumble for the key. My hands were freezing. I couldn't feel them, but surely Gaster was worse off than me. I unlocked the door and fell inside. I slammed it shut as hard as I could. I wish I could just curl up in my bed and warm up, but Gaster needed me. I removed both of our wet clothes and wrapped Gaster up in five blankets. I sat next to him on my couch, cuddling him. Trying to warm him up.

"Gaster, wake up, I need you."

I sat like that for what felt like a long time, but I eventually fell asleep with his head on my shoulder, and my head resting on his.
