Grillby

"Grillby...?"

I woke up to the weak sound of Gaster's voice. It was so quiet.

"Gaster! Oh my goodness! Are you okay?!?" I looked at the clock and realized it had only been five minutes since I got there. Well, then.

"Grillby, I can't see."

"That's because you don't have your glasses on, silly. They were frozen, and so are you."

"I don't feel cold, Grillby." His speech was slurred and quiet. Shivering, low energy, he seems confused... Oh my God. He has hypothermia, doesn't he?

"Hold on, Gaster, we've gotta get you some help."

I got up and called 911 immediately, while also preparing a large cup of hot chocolate to warm Gaster up.

They instructed me to wait for help and follow the instruction they gave me. They said not to apply direct heat, so I sat close by, warming him through the blankets.

I handed him the hot chocolate, but ended up holding it for him because he could barely hold it himself.

"Gaster, can you swallow this?"

"Yeah, I think."

I was so glad I'd taken the time to memorize the sounds Gaster made when he talked. Otherwise, I couldn't have understood him. It was hard anyways, since he was mumbling.

I helped Gaster drink the hot chocolate. He seemed slightly more awake and alert.

"Grillby, I have to go!" He was starting to get up.

"Gaster, no!" I said as he tripped over his own foot and fell back on the couch.

"I need... to get back... to Sans... and Papyrus..." He said weakly.

Oh... those boys. They must be worried sick!

"Gaster, Gaster, calm down! I - I can call them..."

His hands were shaking and he seemed distraught.

"They - They n-n-need me... Gr-Grillby, please..."

"Gaster, I'll go over as soon as the doctors get here, I'll take of them, I promise."

"Th-Thank you, Grillby..." He smiled weakly. At that moment I just wanted to grab him and hold him and make everything feel better, but I knew that wouldn't help. He just looked so... sad.

He eye sockets fluttered open and shut. He looked so tired. So stressed. He needed me. I was just about to hug him, when -

*Knock Knock*

Someone was at the door! I jumped up and answered it.

There was a black dog monster standing outside the door.

"Bruticus. Royal guard. At your service."

"And also at yours," I said out of politeness as I bowed slightly.

"I've brought a doctor."

"Hello." A periwinkle cat monster stepped past him. "Doctor Tabitha Clawfoot. Where's your patient?"

She was quite kind and I greatly appreciated this.

"Welcome. He's on the couch."

As she stepped into the house and peered over the couch, a flash of realization coated her face.

"D-Doctor Gaster!?"

"Tabby...?"

"Oh my God, Doctor Gaster, what happened??!?"

I quickly explained as she got to work. As soon as she had busied herself with him, I slipped on a coat and snuck out of the house.
