WARNING: Again, this chapter contains mention and a scene with bulimia, please be careful while reading. I tried not to make it too graphic, but if it's going to be triggering in anyway please avoid it, it's near the middle of this chapter.

I had managed to avoid Lucy for two days, she had been with Jake and Aidan in the quad, and I had been with Kara, Ty, Mason, and Farrah in the music block, but when Geography rolled around, I had no choice but to talk to her, thanks to Mr. Finch.

"Lucy and Briar! You will be paired up this period, please get your supplies and get started," Mr. Finch ordered from the front of the class. I groaned inwardly, but Lucy just dragged herself over to my table and laid out her stationary next to me, settling into the seat and refusing to look at me. We sat in silence, for the most part, only talking when we needed to, but I couldn't stand not knowing. I needed to know why she was acting annoyed at me, when she's the one who was in the wrong.

"Why'd you do it?" I blurted, turning in my seat. She looked up, her eyes flat and her mouth in a thin line.

"Excuse me?"

"Why'd you sleep with him?"

She just looked at me and laughed before answering.

"Because you wouldn't. You bored him. He needed a real woman." She retorted, her voice cold as ice. I'd seen Lucy be mean before, but I had never been on the receiving end. I didn't recognise this Lucy. It was like our years of friendship meant nothing to her. Why was she acting like this suddenly? She'd been fine before the night of the party.

"Perfect little Briar, wouldn't do a thing wrong, I heard you wouldn't even let his hands wander..." She continued, "The first time, it was great. You were really missing out."

"The first time?" I choked.

"Yeah, like 3 months ago or something," she shrugged and got up, walking towards the door. I gathered my books and rushed after her, catching up with her outside the science blocks.

"It's been happening for three months?" I asked, my voice shaking.

She nodded and kept walking. I felt an anger build in my stomach, fire burning through my veins. Images of us ran like a film through my mind. All those nights we'd spent talking about boys, the nights when we'd cried together, she'd listened to me cry about my Dad, Aidan, my Mum even. And for the last three months she'd been sleeping with my boyfriend. Both of them lying straight to my face, faking her friendship with me. Anger and humiliation burned inside me and I wanted to rip her perfect hair out of her scalp.

"You're such a slut!" I yelled at her, gaining the attention of everyone in the corridor. She stopped and spun, coming to stand right in front of me. Her dark eyes were darker than I'd ever seen.

"At least I had the courage to do something," She sneered. I don't know what happened, one second my hand was at my side, and the next, Lucy was holding her cheek and swearing at me.

"You bitch!" She screeched and lunged for me, grabbing a fistful of my hair in her hand and yanking. I heard people around us gasp and whisper, but no one stepped forward to do anything.

"You slept with my boyfriend! We were best friends!" I screeched, throwing my hand out and hitting her shoulder with my fist, trying to get her to let go of my hair.

"You were just a problem! Always the perfect one, no one else knew the real, fucked up version of you, did they?" She shoved me back and I landed on the floor, hard. I looked around the crowd and saw Jake and Aidan in the corner, looking on with no intention to intervene.
