43 days later...

The airport was bustling with the Monday morning rush of business men and women on their way to various business trips. The strong smell of coffee and cake filled my senses from my place in the café. My flight was in an hour and my stomach was tied in knots as I thought about going home.

Home, the word warmed my heart.

I had practically danced out of those doors, my suitcase swinging from my hand as I jumped into the cab that took me away from that awful place. The only thing I was sad about was saying goodbye to Alannah, we had become semi close during the two months that I was there and I wished her all the best.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and my heart skipped a beat when Tyler's name flashed across the screen.

Tyler: How are you?

He was so sweet.

Me: I'm currently drinking the BEST latte I've ever had, yourself?

I took another sip of the vanilla drink and glanced up, taking in everything around me. I could see a family having breakfast on the other side of the Café, and a woman was on the phone talking hurriedly at the table next to me.

I was perfectly content with my life for once.

I was on my way to a healthy weight, I was feeling good, I had great friends and a gorgeous little sister.

I'd gotten out of the dark hole I had been living in for years, and seeing the light was so good.

Tyler: I'm not even surprised, I'm good. Gabby can't wait to see you.

A moment later another text came through.

Tyler: Neither can I.

My heart swelled and I found myself grinning like a maniac when I read his text.

Me: You better bring me coffee ;-)

Tyler: Already have the order planned ;-)

We bantered for another half an hour before my fight got called and I had to start boarding.

Me: Boarding time, ugh. I'll text you when I land.

Tyler: See you in two hours ;-)

My stomach flipped and I downed the rest of my latte before heading towards the gate.
