CHAPTER 3: RECOGNIZE
[Kristen Dana Carson's Point of View]
"What are you doing here?"
I stopped crying for a while when I heard a familiar voice. Oh God, he's here. He's behind me. Gosh, how can I leave him? I don't want him to recognize me. And especially, I don't want him to see me crying.
I looked down as I wipe my tears off of my cheeks. I sighed and cleared my throat.
"J-just looking at the view. Excuse me." He didn't answer so I turned around while looking down at the floor as I walked to leave here.
"Wait." I stopped walking as I felt my heart beating fast.
Why do I suddenly feel nervous?
"You.. You look familiar to me."
That's when I froze. Oh God, did he recognize me? Hindi ko naman pinakita mukha ko diba? Hindi naman niya nakita siguro yung mukha ko diba? That's impossible, nakayuko ako.
"A-ah? Oo! D-diba ikaw yung nanghiram sa akin ng ball pen kanina? H-hello! Seat mate here?" Buti na lang nakaisip ako ng pwedeng magandang isagot. Maganda nga ba yung nasagot ko? Sana naman paniwalaan niya ako.
"No." Lalo akong nakaramdam ng kaba.
"A-ah, seat mate. I need to go-"
"You really look familiar to me. Yes, sa iyo ako nanghiram ng ball pen pero-" I cut him off.
"Baka kamukha ko lang 'yon! Eh, ngayon lang kita nakita eh. O-oo?" What the hell am I saying?
"So, you saw my face but I didn't saw yours?" Darn...
"A-ah, seat mate? Can I-I go now? My friend is probably l-looking for me."
Maglalakad na sana ako paalis kaya lang humakbang siya palapit sa akin kaya naharangan niya ako. Aish, paano ako makakalis dito? Think, Dana, think!
Hanggang sa may maisip akong paraan. Maglalakad sana ako sa kanan niya para umalis na dito pero mabilis siyang naglakad papunta sa akin kaya naman napasandal ako sa pader.
Cornered...
Nakatingin lang ako sa baba para maiwasan ang mga kakaibang tingin na ibinibigay niya sa akin. Naiilang ako. Ramdam ko ang pagtitig niya. Hindi ko kayang tumingin sa mga mata niya.
"Look at me."
Halos mayanig ako sa sinabi niya. N-no, hindi ko kayang tumingin sa kaniya.
"Seat mate--"
"Aren't you going to look at me?" Umiling ako.
"Look at me! Gusto ko lang naman makita yung mukha mo."
"W-why?"
"Tsk. I told you, you look familiar to me. I think I've saw and met you before," Nagbuntong-hininga ako at tsaka inipon lahat ng lakas. And then, I slowly looked up but I met his handsome face closer kaya nagulat ako.
