(Your Perspective)
"So... Daniel, hmm?" I asked, laughing. We were playing Mario Kart in my living room, and Dan was winning.
"Yeah, it's kinda weird, but... Better than danisnotonfire. I can't believe that name stuck so long." I wanted to laugh again, but I didn't. He seemed... Off. I paused the game, and he cried out in protest.
"What's wrong?" I asked. "Did anything happen tonight? And where's Phil?"
"Nothing, I'm fine. And I don't know." He looked away, and I sighed.
"You know I don't believe that, right?"
"Cool, so can we just start the game again? Please?" His eyes were big and pleading, like a golden retriever puppy.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
I put down my controller and turned to face him, frowning. He sighed and covered his face with his hands and mumbled, barely loud enough for me to hear.
"I... I don't know. I don't know what's wrong, I don't know where Phil is, and I really messed up."
I gave him a confused look, not sure what he was talking about but too worried about him to let it bother me. I wrapped my arms around him as he began to cry - something I was never prepared to see.
"Woah, hey... It's gonna be alright..." I said softly, hugging him tightly but still very confused.
He soon took his hands down from his face and around my waist instead, hugging me closer to him. I'd never seen him so vulnerable, and it terrified me. What had happened?
Waiting for him to calm down took longer than I'd hoped, but he finally wiped the last tears from his eyes and let go of me. He sat back against the couch. Running a hand over his face and through his hair, he took a deep breath.
"Phil and I had a fight."
"What?"
They were best friends. In all the time I'd known them they'd never had a fight, nothing more than a small disagreement... What had happened? Dan didn't look like he wanted to say anything else on the subject, but I couldn't possibly leave it at that.
"What?" I asked again. He shook his head.
"I don't even... I don't know."
"When? What happened?"
"We were filming a video, and he wanted to use his powers, and pretend they were special effects. I said that was too risky."
"I agree. So what happened, then?"
"I think we're both just really stressed... We started yelling about everything, and next thing I knew he was slamming the door. I don't know where he went, he won't pick up his phone, and I'm terrified."
My breath caught in my throat as I realized that Phil could be anywhere. My mind wandered back to the hospital, when Dan went missing... I couldn't bear to think that something like that could happen to Phil, too. Throwing my controller to the side, I stood up.
"We have to go find him," I decided.
"What? Now?"
"Yes, now! He's your best friend, Daniel Howell. We are not leaving him out there alone, especially not this late at night."
"He's still angry, I'll bet. He won't want to see me," Dan tried. I shook my head.
"I don't care, we're finding him. Call PJ."
Author's Note!
Hey guyssss......
So I'm NOT dead, and this is NOT a dream (I think)!
I've simply been EXTREMELY BUSY! I'm a senior in highschool now, and I'm working for hours a day on my senior project among my other classes and trying to balance my social life somehow along with that. BUT I am in the final editing stages of Soryx, and hopefully it will be published around Thanksgiving, so HOORAY!
That probably means I won't be uploading too often for awhile, but then again, when do I? XD I'm honestly the Dan of Wattpad, let's be honest lol
Anyways, I hope this was worth the wait, and I hope y'all are still on board with me and this fanfic! Thoughts on this chapter, or on what's gonna happen? Thanks for reading, love y'all so much!
