The guys stayed a couple of hours. They shared their chocolate with Lily too and just made her feel less lonely and unwanted. Exactly how Bryan had treated her in fact. Mike asked to see her tattoo. She showed him her PTV one and the one she had on her back. Tony hadn't seen it either so was surprised to see a beautiful blue dragonfly across the whole of her back, with tiny dragonflies, butterflies and flowers all around it. It was stunning.
"That is gorgeous" said Tony. She had pulled her t-shirt up to show them and he had an uncontrollable urge to touch her. He didn't but oh, how he wanted to.
The guys said their goodbyes and Lily headed up to bed, exhaustion washing over her like a tidal wave. She brushed her teeth and put on a pair of her new pyjamas. She snuggled down in her bed and heard Tony coming up the stairs. He knocked on the door and she called for him to come in.
"I just wanted to say goodnight" he whispered, taking her hand and gently rubbing the back of it. She smiled up at him.
"Thank you for today. For looking after me. And caring" she whispered. Their eyes locked and he leant over and kissed her. Just a gentle kiss but both of their stomachs seemed full of butterflies. She reached up and stroked his cheek, smiling at him.
"You are so beautiful" he whispered.
She shook her head.
"Yes, you are" he insisted, kissing her again. She kissed him right back. For once, she felt like things might be ok.
She asked Tony to stay with her. She liked feeling him so close to her, making her feel safe. He went to change into something more comfortable and came back to wrap his arms around her. They fell asleep together, both sleeping soundly until the next morning.
