Drew
I stood on my toes trying to at least see my whole face in the mirrored cabinet door that sat over the sink, not just my hair and eyes, as I got ready for bed. I sighed and dropped down giving up. I hated being so short. Everyone made fun of it. Especially Kier, he wasn’t even that much taller than me. I opened the bathroom door and entered mine and Shanes room. I face planted my pillow and groaned. “Why couldn’t I just be a little bit taller?” I sighed and decided to try and fall asleep.

I had been stood in the hallway when Drew padded past me looking downtrodden and I was curious as to why. I was about to ask him what was up when I got my answer, he hated his height. I wandered through to the living room where the Kier and Luke were sat watching a documentary. I collapsed into my seat and thought about Drew. An idea struck me “Guys where do we keep the tools?” Luke turned to look at me “Hallway cupboard, why?” he answered confusion clear on his face. I quickly explained the situation and the guys agreed to help.

I stretched and yawned. I looked over to where Shane was sleeping and found an empty space. I then looked at the clock. I wasn’t up too late. Shrugging it off I went to the kitchen to make myself a coffee. I opened the cupboard and looked up realising my mug was on the top shelf, I sighed and stood on my tiptoes to try and get it. When I managed to get it without standing on my tiptoes I looked around confused. Everything looked the same. But I had managed to reach the top shelf without climbing, stretching or asking for help. I frowned and continued making my coffee. I padded into the living room and settled down to watch the news. I spotted Shane passed out on the sofa. One hand had fallen off the sofa the other was under his head, his hair was being stirred gently by his relaxed breathing. Grabbing the blanket folded up on the floor I draped it over him. An hour or so passed and I decided to go for a shower. Quietly so as not to wake Shane I left the room. I passed Kier in the hallway. “Morning Drew” he mumbled “Morning Kemp” I nodded in his direction. He stopped in front of me and looked at me funny. “Whats with your face Kemp?” he shook his head “Nothing just something seems different about you” he stepped past me. I rolled my eyes, Kemps never been that coherent in the morning anyway.

I sat up once I heard the bathroom door close. Kier grinned at me from the doorway. Our plan was underway.

I turned on the shower and waited for the temperature to become perfect before climbing in. I washed enjoying the warm water. I regretted stepping out as the cold air hit me. I grabbed the clothes I had collected drying and dressing quickly. I wrapped a towel around my head to dry my hair. I grabbed my toothbrush and the toothpaste and looked in the mirror. I froze my toothbrush in front of my face. I could see in the mirror. I could see my entire face. I looked down. I wasn’t stood on anything. I grinned, I was taller. I happily brushed my teeth. I walked into the living room almost an hour after I had left it and found Shane awake and cradling a cup of coffee. I plonked down next to him grinning. “Whats got you so happy?” he asked “I grew” I giggled. “You grew?” he replied looking disbelieved, I nodded “Yep, I can reach the top shelf and I can see my face in the mirror and Kemp said something was different about me, I have grown” I cuddled up to him

I shuffled into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I turned the taps on to fill the sink with warm water and yawned. With my eyes closed I reached out to open the cabinet. When I found it lower than normal I froze. My eyes shot open and I looked in the mirror realising it was lower than normal. I blinked confused. What the hell was going on. I washed my face and brushed my teeth quickly. When I left and wandered into the kitchen I found Drew bouncing on his toes at the kettle. “Hey Laurence guess what” I smiled at his enthusiasm “What?” he grinned “I’ve grown” so it wasn’t just me. “So have I apparently” I told him running a hand through my messy hair. I heard a thump behind me and turned to find Kier leaning heavily against the door frame laughing “Whats with you Kemp?” he shook his head “Ill tell you later” Drew skipped past, as much as the two cups of coffee in his hands would let him, and Kier turned to me “No on has grown we’ve just moved all the cabinets and stuff down so Drew seems taller” He said quietly between giggles “Thank god I like being the height I am” I said as I moved to hug him "So do I we're just the right height for you to rest your chin on my head and for me to listen to your heartbeat and make me feel protected" he whispered
