chapter three - beep beep, Richie
Recap
"What's going on?" I asked, looking over at Bev, who looked concerned from her talk with Bill.
"Stan had a total nervous breakdown this morning. Throwing shit around in Bill's room, kicking at Bill and stuff like that. He said he saw a clown or something. He's been taken to a seperate unit until he's calmed down." Bev explained.
Holy fuck.
Eddie Kaspbrak's POV:
My heart dropped, beginning to panic.
Jesus fucking Christ.
Is this what it warned me about with the stupid message on the wall? Is it coming after all of us now? Jesus, did I cause this? What does it want from me? My mind raced with so many questions, the world seemed to spin as I tried to get a handle on my thoughts. What the fuck do I do? Oh my god.
I made eye contact with Richie, who looked to be confused and shocked about the whole thing.
"Holy fuck, is he okay?" Richie said, looking over at Bill. "Hell, are you okay?" He quickly added, noticing his eyes beginning to well up.
"I-I'm fine... I j-just hope..." Bill trailed off, looking down as tears fell down his cheeks. I could see the internal panic in Richie as he struggled to find a way to comfort him. The same internal panic was happening with me, as I looked to Bev for help.
"Bill, it's okay." Bev took Bill's hand, squeezing it comfortingly.
"I-I just h-hope he's okay." Bill finished, sniffling as he wiped his tears away. I looked over at Ben and Mike who were walking over, looking concerned as they looked over at Bill.
"What's going on?" Mike asked concerned, as he put his hand on Bill's shoulder. Ben watched silently, looking sadly at Bill. I watched Ben shift his gaze to Bev and Bill holding hands, and I noticed his face drop.
Is this some kind of love triangle I'm sensing?
"Stan freaked the fuck out this morning, he's in a seperate unit right now. Something about clowns." Richie briefly explained,
"Oh no... Bill it's okay, he's being taken care of. You'll see him eventually, don't stress." Mike said to Bill. Bill looked up at him, giving a small grateful smile as he wiped his tears away.
"T-thanks guys." Bill took a deep breathe, trying to pull himself together. "Let's g-get some bre-breakfast and t-talk about it at ou-r table." He said. We all nodded in agreement.
We all got into line for breakfast, and each took our trays of food. We sat down at the same table as yesterday, all of us even in the same seats.
"So how do clowns make their way into what happened with Stan?" Ben hesitantly asked, unsure if it was the right time to talk about it. Bill didn't seem to mind the conversation, eating his food and zoning out a bit.
"Stan was screaming about a clown, and attacked Bill when he didn't take Stan seriously." Bev explained. "My guess is that he was seeing some kind of clown that must of scared or traumatised him."
"Man, I'd freak out too if I started seeing a fucking clown everywhere. I'm surprised I'm not in a seperate unit from seeing Eddie everyday." Richie snickered, picking specific pieces of fruit out of his fruit salad. I elbowed him, not because of his insult, but because now really wasn't the time.
"Ow!" He whined, pushing at me gently.
"B-beep beep, R-Richie." Bill said, eying him with an annoyed glare. Richie quickly shut up, continuing to eat just the apple and strawberries in his fruit salad. He picked up his un-buttered piece of toast and bit into it.
