chapter four - who the actual fuck signed us up for this bullshit?

"D-don't call me that." Bill said, standing up and shoving Richie jokingly. Richie almost fell off his chair, but he caught himself. He laughed, adjusting his glasses and raising his eyebrows at Bill.

"Nice try, Willy Billy." He said, continuing to laugh. I chuckled at the two's banter, rolling my eyes. Bill smiled slightly, and walked towards the door.

"I'll s-see you t-two at dinner. I g-got therapy at 5." He walked out, after we said our farewells.

Eddie Kaspbrak's POV:

Me and Richie were walking back from the cafeteria, after just having dinner. Everyone seemed dull today - I'd assume it's because we were missing a good friend from our friendship group.

"You starting to settle in Eddie Bear?" Richie teased me with the nickname, nudging me slightly while holding back a giggle. I rolled my eyes, smiling at him.

"Slowly but surely I guess." I shrugged, looking down at the ground. I couldn't take my mind off of what was going on, if I'm going to be honest, I can't settle anywhere until the clown is gone. I didn't want to think about what this clown could do to my friends, we were all mentally unstable and struggling, who knew what a clown could do if added to the mix?

"It'll get easier, don't worry." Richie wrapped his arm around me, trying to cheer me up. I smiled at his efforts, and leaned into him.

"Thanks." I said quietly as we approached our bedroom.

"Can I ask something?" Richie asked, plopping down into his desk chair, looking at me. I nodded at him as I lay down on my bed.

"What were you and Bill talking about?" He asked me, turning to his desk where he had his drawing stuff set up.

I bit my lip, looking down. It was almost as if I was able to foresee this question - but I still wasn't able to answer it.

"Uh, um..." I opened my mouth to answer, but no words came to my head. I had no idea whether I wanted to tell him. What if telling him ruined everything? I looked up at him, who was staring at me with his eyebrows raised like I was insane.

"Well?" He said, clearly losing patience.

"Let me just show you." I finally decided to tell him. He was bound to find out if he can see whats's in the bathroom. He stood up slowly, eyeing me like I was insane. I led him out the door, to the bathroom.

"Are you about to show me a massive dump or something?" He sniggered, and I rolled my eyes, smiling slightly.

"No, if you want to see that, hit yourself up. When I open this door, tell me what you see, okay?" I demanded. He nodded slowly, raising an eyebrow at me.

I opened the door, and before us stood the blood stained wall, glaring down at us. I looked back at him, watching his reaction. He furrowed his eyebrows, observing the bathroom. His eyes scrolled across the dried up blood puddled ground up to the dulled dried up remains of the bloody message. It was clear that it was intended to be a message, but it was barely readable now.

"Is that blood?" He said, his eyes going wide as it clicked together in his brain.

"We don't know." I whispered.

"Are you sure this wasn't just the work of some cutting lunatic?" Richie said, raising his eyebrows.

"I highly doubt it, only me, you and Bill can see it as far as we know. While we were here, someone came in and didn't acknowledge the blood one bit. They even stepped in a blood puddle with absolutely no reaction!" I whisper shouted, looking behind Richie to see if anyone was coming.
