Shifter: The Unkown Primordial

Chapter 4

As everyone else fixed themselves and went to bed, the Commander decided to walk outside. He wanted to find someone. What most of his team didn't know, is that he has already been here before. Shifter, the Primordial protector of the universe, came here a few thousand years ago from their dimension, which was only a few years ago here.

He wanted to meet his old friend, Renesmee, and her family of shapeshifters and vampires. They didn't know about him being a Primordial. All they knew was that he was a traveling vampire who had the ability to control light and darkness.

He shifted to that form and went to where he knew they still lived; Forks. They have to leave before the battle against the Volturi took place, and they have to take all the civilians with them. Of course, he wasn't planning on revealing his team, just the fact that they were here to fight the Volturi. He also had a second reason; he wanted to recruit one of the shapeshifters as a new soldier of his Alpha team.

He entered the clearing where the house, or should he say the mansion of the Cullens were. Before even knocking, the door already opened.

"Who are you? What do you need?" A teenager, who by the odor that he could smell was probably a new vampire, asked him.

"I'm looking for the Cullens, I'm a friend." was his only reply.

The new vampire regarded him with an expression of distaste before closing the door and calling the actual Cullens.

"Who's there?" He could hear the voice of Renesmee calling. She grew already, probably fully grown since it has been long enough.

"Nessie?" He called out

"Shifter? Is that you?" She asked as she opened the door.

"It is me. Long time, Nessie."

She immediately went to him and went for a hug. However, she underestimated her reach and she tripped. Shifter would've laughed, seeing a grown woman trip, but he caught his laughter in his throat and caught her.

"Thank you, I've only been like this a few months, and I'm still not used to being this tall." She breathed out.

"It's alright, are your parents here? I have something important to tell them."

"They're inside, with the others. Come in, they'll be happy to see you!" She pulled him in from their porch steps and they went inside. In the living room, they found the others talking in hushed tones, and their expressions were serious enough that they probably did not want Renesmee to hear, so they sent her out.

"Hey," he said. They all turned to him, and big bright smiles suddenly adorned their faces they looked like a vampire family out for a picture. Their white teeth would've been blinding if he wasn't used to them by now.

"Shifter! What a surprise! You didn't say you were coming! Edward, could you please bring Nessie to her room? We'll have some stuff to talk about." Carlisle said in the same tone he used while talking to the others. Edward immediately obeyed, while the Esme, Alice and the others greeted their visitor.

"There seems to be a problem. Anything I can do to help?" The commander asked them.

"The Volturi are coming here, and we were just talking about what might happen. I couldn't see anything." Alice told him.

"But no matter, we did not do anything so I'm sure they'll just leave us alone again." Jasper said.

"So, what is the reason for this visit?" Carlisle asked.

"Funny, that was actually the reason for this visit." They all looked at him. His words piqued their interest.

The door suddenly opened and Jacob and suddenly entered with a wolf by his side. They were both gasping for air and looked like they ran from very far away.

"T-there are," he gasped, then inhaled another lungful of air before continuing.

"There are strange people by the woods, camping. At first I thought they were normal people camping, but they smelled weird and they were carrying weapons. The others thought this was a threat and att-attacked," He gasped for air again.

"They're strong, and Sam and the others are still trying to fight them." HE said.

"What?!" Shifter burst out. He ran out, and the others followed him. Jacob and the other wolf took a breath first before following.

When they got there, he saw Matthias and Sierra back to back, wings extended, their hands on fire. Bloom and Umbra were both surrounded, and everyone else were huddled together, weapons out. They were surrounded by dozens of wolves.

"Halt!" Shifter ordered. They herd his voice and looked at his direction, and stopped. The wolves saw this as a chance to attack, but Shifter raised his hands and they were all blinded by an intense white light.

Everyone shook off their daze and looked at him, surprised, before Carlisle voiced out the question on everyone's mind.

"What's happening here?"
