New Beginnings - A Nathan Riggs Story [Grey's Anatomy]

A new doctors in town.

It was the first day of many, a new job which means a new era in my life. I have been practicing medicine for years now and i finally got a permanent job! Although it means i'll have to travel across the world to do so, it has always been a dream of mine to do.

My names Nathan, Nathan Riggs. A few months ago I had been noticed by many surgeons how great my work as a cardiothoracic surgeon was and to my luck, one of them was a local from Seattle, over in America. Her name was Miranda Bailey and although she didn't specialise in cardio, she was still amazed at my work and invited me to visit her hospital - Grey Sloan Memorial. Growing up in a small town in New Zealand as never easy, no one ever thought i'd make it to where i am now, back home everyone wouldn't have "big" dreams as I did so it was hard to get to where I wanted to be. In year 10, my class got to opportunity to visit a small hospital down in the next suburb. They were never busy, but when they were it was chaos. Lucky for us, we happened to visit on such a crazy day. Patients were rolling in every 20 minuets or so, some with minor injuries and some with major injuries. To see all those people in need hurry by me gave me a rush, it was so interesting to see how peoples lives change so quickly. The people with the strongest stomachs were allowed to see the patients up close, and i'll admit at first I felt disgusted to see so much blood and gore but you got used to it. Ever since that day I had the biggest need to help people, I studied and studied the human body and how it worked, even tested myself on the different body parts. My friends thought I was crazy, and I admit I really was crazy.

Everyone has a dream, and I had finally got to experience mine. As I walked through the i main entrance of the fairly big hospital, I took a big breath, got ahold of my bags again and asked the front desk for "Miranda Bailey".
