Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness, of hatred, of jealousy, and, most easily of all, the gate of fear.

Ash's POV
2 days until the date.
There's something unsettling about this really. He doesn't seem all that special to be asking Serena on a date. I know what everyone will think. I'm jealous or something like that but I don't think that I am jealous. I don't even like her in that way so literally I can't be. If I was jealous I would know. Besides, I don't feel like she's more then just an annoying sister right now.

I have also been looking further into the girl that went missing who I am in no doubt is Serena. She went missing those years ago from her home at night. She was gone in the morning right after her birthday. That's all the articles I've looked at have said. It's strange that she just appeared on the side of the street in the rain on that day.

Even though I see her currently as an annoying sister, I do actually care for her a little. I've found myself to be a little protective of her even though when we met we just bickered all the time. I have shown it multiple times and Serena is starting to realize that I am actually starting to care for her. I don't really know why I am starting to care for her to be honest.

"Ash! Get out here!" My Mom shouts. "Coming!" I call and I quickly walk out of my room. "Do you mind taking Serena to the mall?" She asks and you eyes widen. "You know I don't like the mall!" I shout upset that Mom actually requested I take Serena to the mall. Please Ash. I know you care for me even a little. Just help me out. Dawn will be there! Serena shows me from her journal and I sigh.

"No." I say and walk towards my room. Yes. Serena writes and gets in front of me. "Why?" Because I said so. Now take me there. "I can't even drive so how can I." I ask and my mom sighs. "Just walk her there. It's not that hard!" My Mom exclaims throwing me my jacket. "Jeez fine I will! Why do you want me to take her to the mall anyway!"

"I want you to get closer to her. You may have shown you are starting to care for her but you still need to get closer to her." Mom says pointing at the door. "Now go." She Insists and I roll my eyes. "Cmon Serena." I say a little angry and I start to walk Serena to the mall. This is so annoying that Mom is making me do this just to get "closer" to Serena.

"Serena where are you from?" I ask and Serena freezes for a second before she continues walking. She is now looking at the ground and her blue eyes are now full of sadness. "Are you Alright?" I ask and Serena nods and keeps on walking forward. "Why are you so secretive about where you came from.." I whisper to myself.

Eventually we make it to the mall where Serena pulls me inside and waiting was Dawn inside. "SERENA! YOU MADE IT!" Dawn exclaims hugging Serena so tightly that I could see Serena was having a little bit of a hard time breathing. Serena taps Dawn as she looks like she's about to pass out after 5 minutes of Dawn hugging her.

"Oh! Sorry bestie! Let's look for your first date outfit since we couldn't find it the other day!" Dawn exclaims jumping around in excitement. "Ash?! I thought you hated the mall!" Dawn exclaims when she finally sees me. "I don't. My mom made me escort Serena here." I respond shaking my head. I can see a devilish smile creep onto Dawns face.

"Since you are here, you are carrying our bags." Dawn says happily. "Oh I am not doing that!"

Three hours later...
"I can't believe I'm doing this!" I shout angrily as I carry the bags that Dawn and Serena managed to get. I look in front of me and what do I see? Dawn giggling and I can tell with Serena's expression she is also in her head. I can't believe I'm doing this when only hours ago I said I wasn't going to.

"Well if you escort Serena to the mall you kinda have to carry the bags." Dawn says with a giggle. "I would rather be at school then doing this Dawn." I respond to her. I never thought I'd say that. That's a difficult thing to beat not wanting to do. We spent three hours in that stupid mall. It was almost 9 at night.

"Cmon Serena we are going home." I say to Serena throwing Dawns bags to her. "Hey!" Dawn shouts angrily. "I'm not walking you home." I tell her and I smirk. "You are taking it yourself." I add and Dawn sighs. "Fair enough. See ya later ketchup." Dawn whispers with a smirk but I just roll my eyes.

I look at Serena and she has a little puppy face. It's actually kind of cute. "Yes I'm carrying your bags." I tell Serena and roll my eyes. She smiles happily and starts to walk down the sidewalk looking up at the bright stars in the night sky. I still wanted a question answered. I'll ask at home.

I look over to my left and on the other side of the road there was a man in a suit just kinda staring at me and Serena. I blink and then he's gone. "What the.." I whisper not knowing if that was real or not. On the way back home I felt like someone was watching me. I looked up and I thought I saw a person with wings. "I must be going crazy.."

Eventually we made it home and I put Serena's bags in her room next to her bed. I then walk out back to the living room and there sits Serena taking her shoes off very delicately. She takes forever to take them off sometimes. When she does finish I walk up to her, grab her wrist, and pull her to her feet. She looks at me confused.

"You are answering my question this time, Cmon." I say and Serena nods. I pull her into my room and close the door. "Now. I would like you to answer this question this time." Serena must know what the question I'm going to ask again because she looks at the ground nervously and won't look up.

"Serena can you please tell me where you are from?" I ask and she grows a sad frown on her face. She sits on my bed and motions me over. I can see tears in her eyes for the first time since she woke up on the night I found her on the side of the road. She takes a shaky breath and starts to write something in her journal.

Well. I noticed this hasn't been too focused on "school" for this to be called a Pokémon "school" story. Sorry about that. I will try to get it to be more focused with school in it.
