***A/N***

Hey so just before you read this, I just learned that my aunt has to get surgery to remove a small clump of cancer cells so if you could send any prayers or wishes her way that would be greatly appreciated! It's a routine surgery and she's expected a full recovery :)) ONWARD!

John was a disorganized mess. One minute he was in the living room trying to find the invitation, the next he's back in the bedroom struggling to fit into his tux from the wedding. When Sherlock finally walked in John took a deep breath.

"Where the hell have you been?" John asked buttoning his jacket.

"Out." Sherlock avoided eye contact. He went to go sit in his chair but an envelope was lying on the cushion. He picked it up and John took it from his hand.

"Well hurry up. The reunion starts at 6:30 and its-" John checked his watch, "Christ it's 5:45. We have to leave in 15 minutes, Sherlock. Get dressed!" He pulled Sherlock out of his chair and pushed him into the bedroom.

"Ughhh why are we going anyways? Isn't the point of high school to make friends that you're never going to see again?" Sherlock whined from the bathroom. John had laid out his clothes on the countertop.

"Shut up, Sherlock." John had enough things on his hands, a toddler is not helping. "We are just there so I can meet some old friends, have a drink or two, then leave." John picked up the envelope and read the invitation once more.

You're invited to Archbishop Holgate's High School's class of 1992 25 year reunion! Food and drinks will be provided. Please arrive at the Barley Hall by 6:30 on July 14th, 2017. We will be remembering the homecoming king and queen as well as having a silent auction. See you there!

John was hoping that they wouldn't be announcing homecoming king and queen. He and his old girlfriend, Mary, were elected. They had been dating for 3 years until one day when John was at college, he wanted to surprise Mary by visiting her at her dorm. Little did he know he was going to walk in on her and some frat boy fooling around.

He shook the memory from his head and called for Sherlock, "You have 5 minutes! Are you ready?" John picked up his phone from the couch and turned around seeing Sherlock in the doorway dressed in a tux. He had a black bowtie that completed the look.

"Well?" Sherlock smiled and did a circle in place. "Remind you of anything?" John chuckled and kissed him gently on the lips.

"God, I love you," John whispered as he passed Sherlock and walked down to the street. Sherlock raised his arm for a cab but John lowered it.

"What are you doing? I thought we were going to be late." Sherlock raised an eyebrow and looked at John's watch. "It's 6:01 why are we not on the highway by now." He joked sarcastically.

"Shut up and look." John took keys out of his pocket and unlocked a red sports car that was parked down the street. "Mrs. Hudson let me borrow her car so I wouldn't look like more of a loser than I already am." John sighed.

"Yeah but I bet you no one else there has a consulting detective as a husband." Sherlock smiled and kissed the top of John's head.

"You know I hate when you do that." John always felt short when Sherlock kissed the top of his head.

The whole place was decorated with balloons and old photos. There was a stack of yearbooks on one of the tables and Sherlock had a field day with all the pictures. He could always find a way to make fun of anyone.

"Will you keep your bloody mouth shut?" John scolded him as people passed them. "You're embarrassing me."

"I'm embarrassing you? Me? These pictures are doing the work I'm just their voice." Sherlock smirked. John punched him on the shoulder and put the book back on the table. When he turned his back Sherlock picked it up again and hid it in his coat.

"John?" A woman was standing behind them at the bar.

"Mary!" John pretended to seem enthused. "How have you been?" Sherlock chuckled at John's failed attempt to seem interested.

"I'm good, you? Married? Kids? Wife?" Mary rattled off.

"Looks like someone's already had their shot of tequila," Sherlock whispered and John punched him.

"Who's this?" Mary asked cheerfully. She probably didn't even hear Sherlock's remark.

"Mary, I'd like you to meet Sherlock Holmes. He's my husband." John said proudly. Sherlock smiled and shook her hand.

"No kidding! That's actually so funny because-" Mary got cut off by the loudspeaker and everyone turned towards the stage. The woman wearing a tight black skirt and a blazer.

"Hey everybody! Great to see some familiar faces in the audience." Sherlock looked towards John.

"Don't recognize her," John whispered.

"So don't forget we have a silent auction going on in the room right next door, so make sure you check that out!" The woman flipped her notecards. "We will be announcing the homecoming king and queen from '92 very soon!" John tensed up at the thought. When the woman came down from the stage the conversations started back up again and noise filled the room.

"So what were you saying?" Sherlock asked Mary.

"Oh right." She paused. "I just thought that it's funny that you're married to a man-" Sherlock became defensive and took a step towards her but John held him back.

"Sherlock!" John scolded.

"Chill man that's not what I meant." Mary chuckled. Just then, the woman from the stage came up to them and grabbed Mary's ass. They both laughed and kissed each other. Sherlock and John exchanged glances.

"Anyways as I was saying," Mary continued after their lips parted, "I thought it was funny that you married a guy because... Well... I married a girl." She wrapped her arm around the woman and they both smiled.

"I don't think we've met." John raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I met Mary in college." The woman held out her hand, "I'm Veronica." John hesitantly shook her hand.

"How long have you guys known each other?" He tried to sound interested and Sherlock just smirked.

"Around 5 years," Mary answered. The four of them stood silently for a few moments until Veronica broke the silence,

"Well, I should go announce the homecoming king and queen. Do you guys remember who it was?" She asked John and Mary. They both exchanged awkward glances before Veronica left.

"What is she going to think when she reads our names off of that piece of paper?" John asked Mary, she just rolled her eyes.

"She won't care, John. We are both married, to the same gender may I add, what does it matter? It's been 25 years." She laid a hand on John's shoulder then they all turned to the stage when Veronica spoke.

"If I could just grab everyone's attention for a few moments, I'll be announcing the homecoming king and queen from 1992!" Everyone clapped and cheered except John and Mary. Even Sherlock was clapping before John punched him playfully. Veronica slowly unfolded the piece of paper and hesitated before reading the names, "Mary Elizabeth and John Watson!" Everyone cheered while the two stammered their way to the stage.

"Thank you." John and Mary said in unison to the microphone. They quickly separated and returned back to the dance floor.

"So we will be announcing the silent auction winners throughout the night so our first one will be on the Pavati AL26 Surf Boat!" Veronica tried to sound cheerful but there was some hesitation in her voice. "The winning bid of 19,000 pounds goes to Sherlock Holmes!" John couldn't believe his ears.

"When in bloody hell did you buy the boat?" John questioned him but Sherlock headed to the stage clapping his hands.

"Thank you! At least something meaningful came from being here!" He left the stage and John shook his head.

"You bastard." He repeated to Sherlock as he filled out the forms for their new boat.
