Complications(Adopted by Brendon Urie)

24. "More than enough."

"So why was Mikey there?" Brendon asked and I panicked a small bit.
"What do you mean?" I asked sincerely, using my extensive acting skills to convince him I was telling the truth.
"If Mikey was there then why did you have to be there as well?" He raised an eyebrow and looked at me for a second.
"Mikey and Gerard were having a double date." I shrugged.
"Why wasn't Kristen there?" He asked and I answered with what I had thought up in about half a second.
"Oh, she had a headache so she got Mikey to drop her off at their home before he took Lindsey and Gerard back to their place." I silently prayed that this answer was convincing enough for Brendon as he was quite hard to lie to.
"Oh okay, it would've been nice to see her." He frowned slightly and I let out a small breath of relief when we didn't talk for the rest of the drive home.

When we got home I ate my dinner with Sarah and Brendon, they asked me about what happened that day and I told them altered versions of everything that happened at Gerard's but without anything related to Mikey or Loch. I also told them about how Gerard wanted me to compose and record versions of all of My Chemical Romance's most popular songs and both of them got really excited for me. After dinner I changed into some underwear and a shirt, wiped off all of my makeup, did my skincare routine and brushed my teeth before going straight to bed. I passed out within a couple of minutes because I was that worn out from what had happened over the previous 12 hours.

The next morning I woke up happy for a change and I didn't have any nightmares, I didn't even have a dream which was definitely better than waking up in the middle of the night in a puddle of my own sweat. I was confused until I remembered what happened the day before and smiled widely before getting ready. I got dressed in my normal attire, skinny jeans, a band t-shit, and some form of boots or sneakers. I then went out to make some breakfast as Brendon was either getting ready or was still sleeping. I made a bowl of Lucky Charms and sat down at the island bench.
"Good morning," Sarah smiled when she entered the kitchen and I smiled back at her. "I'm going to be taking you to school today if that's okay?" She asked and took the Lucky Charms out of the cupboard.
"Theat's foine." I tried to reply right after I took a mouthful and sounded like an idiot, I also grabbed Sarah's attention.
"What?" She giggled while I swallowed my cereal.
"Urgh, I said that's fine..." I groaned playfully.
"You are just a special little character aren't you?" She raised an eyebrow as she sat down next to me.

"Who's special?" Brendon walked in, looking like he literally just fell down a mountain and I giggled at his appearance.
"This child." Sarah patted me on the head and I shot her a look.
"Really? Hmmmmm..." Brendon scratched his chin jokingly.
"Nothing more true has ever been said, Daddy." I smirked and watched Sarah choke on her cereal, almost spitting it up onto the counter.
"Annie!" She smacked me on the arm when she stopped almost dying. "Brendon you are so immature..." She looked at Brendon who was clutching at his stomach with one hand, the other was resting on the counter beside him keeping him upright.
"D-D..." He gasped for air, still laughing. "Daddy!" He choked out and I started laughing with him.

In all honesty that was the absolute peak of my comedic career, honestly if I tried to be funnier I would've just looked like I was trying to be 'hip' and 'cool'. Sarah and I finished eating before we got in her car to drive to school. She questioned my mood and why I was actually happy to go to school for one but I just told her I was having a good day, which she nodded and told me that was great. We got to the school and I got out, slinging my bag over my back and grabbing my crutches, putting them over my arms, before going into the school. I tried to look as emotionless as I normally do, but I just felt like I had a weird, unexplainable glow somewhere deep within me that made it hard to not smile.
