Lloyd watched Kai throw the punching bag around, checking the time every now and then. Eventually, he raised a hand, signaling for the brunette to stop.
"What?" Kai asked, "Midnight already?"
Lloyd shook his head. "No, but you've been training hard. Go to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow." He left the training room, closing the door behind him. Kai groaned, punching the bag of sand again, which caused it to hit him back.Rubbing his eye, Kai pulled out his phone, checking the time.
11:28.
Great. He'd missed his date with Skylar, and he hadn't even warned her about it. Talk about being a bad boyfriend. He needed to make it up to her. Hopefully she was still awake. He put away his gloves, picking up his training bag, and walking back to his room, passing the girls'.
He sighed, shutting his door, throwing his bag somewhere else in the room.
"Rude."
Kai opened his eyes, seeing Morro standing in his room, near the window. He glared, moving to the closet to change. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, I was going to give you on of those crystals and leave it behind, but you caught me before I could leave. Oh, and threw a bag through me." Morro said, handing one of the ethereal crystals from before to him.
Kai hesitantly took the crystal. "Okay? Why?"
Morro shrugged, looking at Kai's bed. "Figured you'd be upset that the other's had powers and you didn't." He pointed to the red bed sheets. "Looks comfy."
"Go nuts."
"Morro flopped himself onto the bed. "Hey, I was right! It is comfy!"
Kai smirked to himself. "Hero's discount. You know, after beating you?"
"So you're a hero now?" Morro asked, sitting up.
Kai scoffed. "Kind of comes with being a ninja."
"Well, Mr. Hero," Morro teased, "why do you suddenly trust me?"
"I don't," Kai said turning to him. "Don't think that we're friends because of this."
Suddenly, Morro disappeared, and his voice came from behind Kai. "Aren't we?"
Kai shivered, and a gust of wind flew throughout the room, opening the window. He clutched the crystal in his hand, and closed the window.
Deciding to forget about the exchange, Kai sent himself off to sleep.

Morro returned to Diastro's hidden base, shoving his cloak aside in his room as Bansha arrived.
"You have disappeared once again, Morro. Soon Diastro will notice."
"What that cranky old man doesn't know won't kill him, alright?" the moody teen replied, running a hand through his hair.
"You play a dangerous game, but now is not the time for that. It's time for Clouse's punishment."
Morro shivered, despite not feeling anything. Clouse had challenged Diastro, and failed, earning himself what Diastro called, "The Final Lesson." Supposedly, anyone he'd ever used it on, never disobeyed him again. The fact that it had to be performed in front of an audience made it seem all the more disturbing.
"Then let's go.
The two ghosts entered a large cavern, with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. However, these were no normal chandeliers. They were made from some dark, hard substance, shifting from round and clean, to sharp and bulgy. They honestly freaked Morro out. Especially the screams that seemed to be resignating from within them.
Diastro stood in front of them all, his thin, white beard twisted as ever. His pale blue eyes were watching the inhabitants of the room as if they were prey. Behind him, was a golden plate, that seemed to be gaining rust. On it, was his mantra, engraved with black ink.
"One King, One Rule," the crowd read aloud in unison, as they had been taught. Morro cringed at the narcissistic words. He watched in suspense as two guards made of metal brought in a weak Clouse, who only wore a dusty old loincloth round his waist.
"As you know, this creature dared to defy me, and failed," Diastro spoke in his strong, old voice. "Now he will learn his final lesson."
He snapped his fingers, and the guards sat him down on a chair. The crowd gasped, recognizing the electric chair. Clouse tried to escape, but it was too late; his fate was sealed.
A surge of electricity exploded through the old sorcerer, and his unholy scream filled the room. Morro closed his eyes, not wanting to watch, when he felt a force turn his head back to the front. He didn't even think to question the guard forcing his attention to the scene before him.
Clouse suddenly went limp, breathing heavily. Diastro approached, yanking his chin towards him, staring at him with that same terrifying glance.
"Prepare him for Stage 2."

Sorry this chapter is a bit short, but I've struggled with writer's block recently. Apologies for the unneeded hiatus, but I think I finally know what I want to do next.
