Nightfall came fast.
Screams of terror came from the city down below as the knights went around the city to attack the oncoming hollows.
I sat on my bed humming softly before my door got busted open.
"Alright peasant. Get up."
I glanced over at the Prince and sighed. "What am I doing?" I mumbled as I got up.
"You're gonna help me slay these beasts."
"I can't expose my face..."
"Then I'll get you a mask."
"Okay."
He started walking out of the room and I rushed to catch up with him.
I grabbed his hand before he could get further ahead and he turned back and snarled at me.
"You're moving too fast for me!"
"Yet you can defeat these creatures."
"Adrenaline."
He growled at me before yanking me after him. "Idiot."
"I feel so appreciated." I groaned as I glanced down at my bandaged feet.
His eyes flickered back at me for a second and without a second thought, I was over his shoulder and down in the armory.
"What weapon do you want?" He huffed after dropping me on the ground.
I blinked. "Uh- well..."
Choose the chains and sickles...
I reached forward and grabbed them hesitantly before looking at him.
He raised his brows before hardening his expression.
"What?"
"Nothing. Let's go."
We left through a side door and he handed me a mask.
"Thanks?"
"If you don't like it I can get you a potato sack..."
"I like it."
He didn't look at me again. "Good."
"..."
"Now show me what you're capable of."
I slid on the mask and looked at him.
"As you wish."
"..." He looked at me with wary eyes before I jogged off towards the city.
My clothes were ragged and my skin was filthy.
Knights that were on guard stared at me curiously as I wrapped my hand around the end of the chain.
