Again and again, Duiguid dodged the oncoming poles of rage flurred at him by Farinata. He was about to attack when he found that his arm was trapped, caught between some the rooted pole in the ground. "You fell for it!" Farinata yelled in triumph. "The most infamous tactic of my people: The Martyr's Cage!" It was at this point Duiguid realized that he was in the very centre of a well construted guild, the only way out seeming to be up. But if he tried that, he knew that Farinata would just hurl another wooden pole at him. But if he stayed, the obvious would become quite clear. The pieces of the guild would split, each piece setting off the other next to it. And with him inside, that meant instant death. He wasn't sure if Mi knew about the true intent of this character. He readied Obelisk. He remembered that the "Raging Wolf" existed no more. So what was the name of his new technique? Had he had enough time to sync with Fang? He hoped for the best. As he concentrated, he focused his mind to merge with Fang's, the sounds of the now rippling wood slowly fading into the distance. He opened his eyes. He remembered. "Cresent....Moon!". The onrush of energy turned back and forth between the spurs of wood severing them down. Farinata could hardly believe what he was seeing. The last time his people used that technique, it killed more than fifty Lycans without fail. "Yet, this one..." he said in awe, "he broke out without even a twitch! This is impossible!"
"Hey Farinata!" Duiguid said. he sniffed the air, grinning menacingly. " I smell fear."
Meanwhile, Sadigq, the members of The Six and Mi all slowly observe the battle through the means of a Mystic Mirror. These large mirrors, consisted of the Beta-Technology used by the Chameleos, as a ways of analyzing a battle in progress. Only one had been re-discovered since the Great War, though others claimed to have found shards."Requesting data on the fighting subject Duiguid." Mi asked the mirror. But the response was an odd one. "Subject could not be verified. No data available. Please select another subject or target." Mi was a bit suprised. Did this mean that there was no available data regarding the battle style of the Lycans? She was able to recieve anything she wanted from the mirror up until now. she sighed. "Guessed it can't be helped." she thought. "Requesting data on the fighting subject Farinata." Mi asked the mirror. The mirror responded by slowly analyzing the battle data it had already collected. It continued to scan the image it had captured of Farinata, all the while those around waiting to see the result. Then came the answer. "Analysis complete: Name: Farinata. Race: Yousei Mokuzou. Power source: Wood." The answer was not at all what any had expected. All, even Sadigq was in shock. Number Six was about to leave to go to the battle scene, when Mi stopped her. "I know what we're all thinking. But as he's a Lycan, there's no need to worry. Besides, this should be interesting don't you think? Two hated rivals in a what may now well be a fight to the death." All agreed upon it as a good idea, until Sadigq interrupted. "Glad to see your all excited." His voice was more harsh, Mi noticed, than had ever been. "Something wrong?" she asked. "Not really, but since the last of any known Yousei was said to be sealed away, I'd like to know something." "And what's that?" Number Six asked. And what came next was a question no one could answer. "How did he escape?"
Farinata is enraged. Though he had foresaw this as an easy battle, this Lycan was slowly forcing him into submission. He again managed to dodge the incredibly powerful slash of Duiguid's sword. He was well aware that without any trees in the area to gather power from, his own would slowly fade. "This was why I used Martyr's Cage." he shouted in thought. "That much power would have made it possible to kill and still leave me time to get out." He looked behind him as he prepared to defend against the next attack. Duiguid wasn't there. Realizing where Duiguid would appear next, he turned around in an attempt to counter the attack. All too late. He recoiled as he was struck, the sword leaving the area around his black heart wide open. He fell like a rock from the sky. As he staggered slowly up, he saw the blade of a sword meet his face. "You can only harden like you're wood, but you ain't. You only use it. Now die." Duiguid said. He plunged his sword down, straight into the open area made by his sword. Farinata now lay dead on the floor. "This battle is over." As Duiguid walked away, he heard a famliar laugh. "No Lycan, the battle has now begun." Duiguid turned around in utter disbelief. "It can't be." he grimaced. He saw energy emmiting from the dead body of Farinata as it rose from the ground, it's strange, strange power causing Duiguid to become light headed. "Winston" he sneered. Fainata's body now stood up firmly. It smiled, though the smile was not its own.The black swirling energy formed a skull around Farinata's head. Winston spoke through Farinata's body. "Since the Yousei don't have skulls, I thought I'd leave a small contributary behind. He bowed. I hope you enjoy my present." Duiguid then realized what had happened. Winston was the one who had released Farinata, and had infested his body with Dark Energy.
