Chapter 11

Without his "Night Fragment" ability, Duiguid could no longer gather spirit particles to restore his wounds and Banchi, he was  going to have to find another way to cope with the effects of the Dark Energy. But how? He knew it had some odd power that drained him of his own, and that's was the reason Wye had used it in their last battle. Yet even now as he thought, his own power was being drawn from him and added to Farinata's. He staggered from loss of energy. Already his body was feeling heavier. He knelt down, using Obelisk as crotch to keep himself from going any farther. Obelisk, however was aware of the situation and knew the outcome was obvious. "If he doesn't move soon he will die." He could only wait this one out though. For without Duiguid fully focused, their Link was closed off completely. There was nothing he could do. As he stared up at the now slowly fading moon, he spoke to himself. "Good luck kiddo."

Meanwhile, Miguel is still in terror at the events that took place. "How can one man have so much power?" he thought.

"I'll answer that." Winston said. "When a person is born they enter one of three circles, Meda, Omega or Anima. When a being is too power to be cast into only one circle, he ascends to the fourth."

Miguel was shocked. He had heard rumors of this "Fourth Circle", but had never really thought it existed. "Yes, the Fourth Circle: Domina. It is here that one ascends from the flesh to nothing but Pure Spirit. One either remains a Pure Spirit, or becomes a God. And so saying you find yourself facing a God. Not even Shagon, Lord of the Underworld can stand before me without paying respects."

"But how can you read my mind? how could you know what I....."

Miguel's eyesight dimmed. All he could see before him, was the cold expression of the skull Winston wore. Just as Winston was about to deliver the killing blow, a bolt of lightning pierces his shoulder. In his surprise he releases his grip on Miguel who falls to the ground. Winston looks ahead to see that the Aderyn now has an odd bow in his hand. He knew at once what is was. "I've always wanted to see one up close." he said. "The most power weapon of the Aderyns: Seiteki Senshu."

"You are not a God." said Cali.

"What makes you think such?"

Cali points at winston's shoulder, who immediately looks. There was a gash made by the attack, his blood pouring out at a tremendous rate. Winston was surprised. His power was that of a Meda-Elemental. How was he able to injure him? He looked angrily at Cali. 

"Gods don't bleed." he summoned a chant, and it began to rain. Winston was upset at this bold Aderyn. He had expected him to pose any threat at all. Yet, he was injured. Was it because he was a Meda-Elemental that the attack penetrated "Acheron's Ring" ? He withdrew the ring and healed his wound. He advanced back and summoned a few of his puppets. Although he knew this would take a while he needed a way to observe the Aderyn in combat. Cali saw his chant had worked and that Miguel was slowly recovering. He quickly ran over and shook him gently. He came too and with Cali's help, got slowly back on his feet. "Tsunami Recovery!" he shouted with his last breath. He then dropped back down to the ground. His body appearing devoid of any life. A small rumbling was heard. It grew louder and louder before both Cali and Winston realized what it was. The river had becom alive and was headed in their direction. It swallowed Miguel and transpired into a large sphere, turning and tossing about. As it did, it gave off a soft glow that gradually became brighter. Cali thought of the technique as nothing more but impressive. An offensive and defensive measure, he would attack with the same water after recovering. Miguel awoke from within the swirling water, his eyes aglow with power and rage. But at the same time, Winston's puppets had also now come fully into being. The sphere of water became smaller and smaller. Using his Mystic Barrel, Miguel swallowed the entire river. "Now," he said. "Let's get serious." He looked at cali who nodded.
