It had been more than ten days since Duiguid had met Kane. Since then all he had done was train, for he was intent upon learning on how to use the strange sword he had found. Kane watched from a distance as the Lycan trained with increasing vigor. “It seems that the Sais respond to his will, as well as his mind.” This kid is stronger than he may ever know.” He called out to him. “Alright Duiguid, that’s enough. Time you took a rest.”   Duiguid looked upset. He didn’t want rest just yet. “Three more hours.”  He said. Kane shook his head. “Come on kid, you’ve been at it since sunrise. Take a load off. Relax. You can train later.” Duiguid sighed. But then he decided to join him anyway. They both sat on an open field behind the Arna watching the clouds as they passed. “Funny.” Said Kane. Duiguid looked at his mentor, a glint of curiosity in his eyes. “What is?” he asked.

Kane smiled, but then at the same time he looked sad. Very, very sad. He looked up at the sky again. “You know both or races, Lycan & Hybrid? Sometimes I think we’re like the clouds. When it rains heavily, others hope we leave. When it’s hot outside, they hope we pass to give them shade. Yet, unlike these clouds, when we go we can’t come back. Or even bring others back.” He looked at Duiguid. “Makes you wonder if we’re really loved by anyone other than our own.” And even that at times was questionable.” Duiguid was about to ask what he meant by saying that when Kane got up. “Come on. Let’s get back on track.”  Duiguid thought it best not to bring back up the topic. Besides, he was more interested in what he could do with these Sais. Even as he felt no power coming from them, he could still tell that they were useful in some manner, though he didn’t know why. He realized Kane wasn’t going to the obstacle course as usual. “Kane this isn’t…” but he cut Duiguid short. “Yeah…….thought I’d try something new.” After some time they came upon a huge mountain. Duiguid wondered why here. Kane turned towards him. “I’ll be going now.” Make sure this heap of rock is in half when you come back.” Then he left.

Duiguid looked up at the mountain, then at the Sais. “How the fuck am I going to cut this in half with this shit?” I’d need a sword to do that. He sat down, angered at the fact that he was to do something as dum as this. “Well the least I can do is focus on passing my Banchi into them.” He got up, took out the Sais, and began his stance, focusing his power as he did so. He continued on, his energy rising and rising. He knew he was to his practically to his breaking point. Despite this, he pushed on. That’s when it happened. The Sais began to give off energy of its own, transforming as it did so. Duiguid watched as the Sais reformed, glowing as they gave shape to something else. At last the Sais gave off one powerful light forcing him to look away and when it was done, Duiguid found he was holding a very powerful looking sword.

The sword looked almost like the Sais, but with a few changes. While the wolf head that was the end of the Sais it was now the starting base of the sword. The sword also had the handles retracted into sides of the wolf’s mouth. Duiguid searched, but saw no way of getting them out. He also saw that there were symbols upon the sword. He read them:  Fire of the Dark Moon. He turned the sword over and saw more writing. This time it was one word: Obelisk. He wondered what it meant. Then he remembered something. “The mountain.” He turned around to face the mountain, which was at least more than one hundred feet tall. He raised the sword above his head, then brought it down giving it as much power as he could.

The result was immediate.

The mountain gave way to the immense power of the sword as the powerful attack proceeded to carve it in half. Not only was the mountain hewn, but the landscape behind it as well suffered terribly afterwards. Duiguid was amazed by his own power, as well as that of the sword. Kane however, was watching from a hiding place and had observed everything that had taken place. “What a move!” he exclaimed. “Wonder if it has a name?” He decided to play a role and return the way he came. He ran every so now and then, to give the intention of making him look like he had ran a great deal after hearing the explosion. When he got there he stared at Duiguid, then at the sword. But before he could, Duiguid spoke. “Ya know, you could’ve just jumped down from the cave above like you were going to." Kane looked at him. “You knew?” He burst out laughing. “Guess I didn’t try hard enough!” Come on. Let’s go.” We get to that sword bit tomorrow.”
