None of you actually suggested this but I'm writing about it anyway.
If you're writing a story that takes place in Minecraft, you need to make sure you continuously incorporate elements from Minecraft into the story.
Make sure the setting is described using Minecraft blocks. Use Minecraft weapons and tools. Talk about the inventory. Incorporate the health/hunger bars. Write in Minecraft monsters and animals.
You don't have to use everything from Minecraft (personally I like to stay away from hunger/health bars and the inventory), but you should use a lot.
People are reading your book because they like Minecraft. If you start writing about things that aren't in Minecraft and not writing about things that are, they will lose interest.
However, you can add some things that aren't in Minecraft to make it easier to write about. I like to make all blocks affected by gravity instead of just sand and gravel and stuff. It makes action better.
I also have guns and fancy weapons in my books. I suggest staying away from that, but if you think it will make your book better, go ahead.
But don't go too crazy, like making pigs able to fly or something. Idk I can't think of any examples
