Merry Christmas! (if you celebrate it)
As my Christmas/holiday gift to you all, I am finishing up this book with one more piece of advice: how to advertise your book well.
(my gift was gonna be the next TDMR episode but that's not done yet)
Anyway, the best thing to do if you want your Minecraft fanfic (or any book, really) to get popular is to advertise it.
How do you advertise it, you ask? Well, there are a couple things you can do.
For one, you can advertise it on your own profile through messages to your followers if you have a decent amount. You can also advertise your books through other books you write if you have any. If your followers have read other books by you and enjoyed them or are good friends with you, they will most likely listen to the advertisement and begin to read your fanfic. And if you followed all the other advice in this book, your fanfic should be great. Then boom, you have readers.
The more readers you get, the more popular your books will become (obviously). Other Wattpaders will notice your readers reading your book, and might check it out themselves. This process keeps repeating, and you'll have plenty of readers in no time. (Actually some time. It takes awhile, be patient.) However, you have to make sure your books are actually worth the read, or you will lose readers.
Another thing you can do to advertise your book is by asking people you know to read it. If you're comfortable with telling people irl that you write Minecraft fanfictions (which I for one, am definitely not), ask them to read your book. Chances are they'll enjoy it, and might even give you feedback on it. You could also post about your fanfics on your social media if you have any, and if you are comfortable with doing that.
The last thing (that I can think of) that you can do to advertise is by commenting on other popular books about your story.
BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT, make sure it is okay with the author. Some authors really don't like it when other Wattpaders advertise their stories on the author's books. So make sure you ask permission. (@mefouryearsago)
An example comment advertisement could be: "This story is great! I also write Minecraft fanfictions. I'm writing one now called "________", check it out!"
But also, don't comment advertisements everywhere. Some people will find that annoying and will definitely not read your book. Comment advertisements are good in small portions.
Although, tbh, the Minecraft fanbase on Wattpad seems to be dead. Unless that's just my profile and books (which is entirely possible). But if it's not, comment advertisements (and any ads in general) might not work, since the community has died out. They're worth a shot, though.
Speaking of which, I give everyone permission to advertise their stories on my books. Hell, you guys can advertise them on my message board if you want. As long as you don't spam or be annoying with them, I don't mind advertisements at all. I mean, I won't read your books, but other people reading mine/looking at my profile might.
Yes, I'm serious. Comment your advertisements here. Or anywhere. You've waited through my slow-updating, non-helpful advice book for over a year, so you deserve to be able to advertise your books here. Merry Christmas.
That's all the advice I have on advertising. Authors/advertisers(?), feel free to leave any advice you have on this topic here.
Actually, that's all the advice I have on writing in general. So, I'm going to end this book now. Thank you all for checking this out.
And again, thanks for 1k followers. Remember, this book was my gift to all of you for helping me get that far.
Although it's been over a year and I'm only now at 1.2k :/
Oh well, I really don't care how many followers I get anymore lmao. I'm barely on wattpad at this point
But anyway, thanks for stopping by. I hope this book has helped you in some way. If it hasn't, I'm not surprised. I'm not qualified for this. Check out some better How-To-Write books.
Lmao peace
Thanks for reading, and don't forget to vote, comment, and follow!
