Chapter eight

Daniel's POV
I finished packing our bags and then I get dressed.
I see Joey peacefully sleeping while I get dressed. I pick out a little outfit for him and leave it on the bed.
I walked downstairs and saw Debbie and Joe talking together.
I sat down on the couch next to Debbie and she said "Oh hey Daniel, is Joey still sleeping?"
I said "Yeah."
Joe said "Why dose that matter he's not are son anymore."
Debbie stood up and said "He always will be, gay or not, he's our son!"
She walked into the kitchen and started making breakfast.
Joe said "I can't believe you two, sleeping together in my house."
I said "I am so happy you give a shit about where me and your son sleep."
He stood up and said "Mister Preda I've been trying to be nice but don't push my buttons."
I said "I can't wait to."
Nicole walked downstairs and said "Fuck Joey."
I said "What?"
She said "Nothing."
Joe came closer to me and said "Break up with my son."
I saw Nicole step backwards and look at me.
I said "Why."
He said "Because he's a fucking fag, he's seventeen and your twenty five."
I said "What."
He said "He's 17."
I stood up and ran into the guest bedroom me and Joey were staying.
I said "Your 17?"
He sat up and rubbing his eyes as he said "What?"
I said "Your 17?"
He sat back in the bed and said "N-no."
I said "Your amazing father just told me, you don't have to lie, why did you lie."
He said "Because they make us lie about our age at work, it says you at least have to be twenty to work at a bar, so if anyone asks, they make us lie about our age."
I sat down next to him and I said "You don't have to lie around me, so that's why you work a night?"
He said "Yeah, I go to school."
I said "Do you want me to make you a lunch and drop you off at school?"
He said "Oh my god, I'm in high school not kindergarten."
I laughed and said "I know, just don't lie to me, ok?"
He nods his head with a light hearted smile on his face. I kiss his shoulder and said "Get ready, I'm tired of your dad."
He said "Ok Danni!"
I smiled and said "See you downstairs."
I walked downstairs and saw Nicole and her dad fighting.
Joe said "What now, did he finally tell you about how he lives on his own and goes to high school?"
I said "Yes."
Nicole said "And your not leaving him?"
I said "Why would I?"
She smiled and hugged me.
She looked at her dad and said "Haha asshat."
I laughed and said "You have some nice insults Nikki."
She said "Mm, I have better."
We both sat down at the table then Joey came walking down in his skinny jeans with his sweatshirt and uggs.
He sits down next to me and Nicole and his mom sets food on the table.
His dad walks over and sits down. He shakes his head and gets himself a plate.
We all finish up breakfast and then Joey gives his mom a hug. Then Jett.
He looks at his dad.
His dad stands up and says "Love you Joey." Then shakes his hand.
I saw Joey's eyes widen and his dad walks away.
Joey comes up to me and holds my hand. We walk out and get into his sisters rental car.
He quickly falls asleep in my lap. I pet his hair and smile as I tilt my head back and fall asleep myself.
