Chapter seven

Joey's POV
I roll over to give Daniel a kiss but he is not there. I walk downstairs and see everyone dressed and talking.
Daniel walks up to me and says "good morning sleeping beauty." He says the sleeping beauty part quietly.
My mom says "Daniel, could you please show Joey the outfit I picked out for him."
Daniel said "Yes."
We walked upstairs and he handed me my skinny jeans with a black T-shirt with white stripes around the arms.
I quickly put it on and then we walked downstairs together
I said "What time is it?"
My mom said "You slept well sweetie, it's almost dinner."
I said "Wow, ok."
Then I saw my aunt and uncle from my dads side. They looked at me then walked away.
My aunt from my moms side said "I hope you like turkey."
I looked at Daniel and he said "Um, Joey's vegan."
My dad said "Heh, how gay can he get?"
I wanted to go up and slap him. But I didn't. We all walked over to the table and sat down.
We all held hands and said grace but I don't believe in any of that, I think it's kind of stupid.
We all start to grab food and then people started saying what they are thankful for and just random things.
Then it was my turn.
I stood up and said "As you all probably and hopefully know, I'm, gay."
Everyone sat back in their chair.
I went on to say "And I have found a boyfriend that is successful and loving and caring."
My dad stood up put his hands on the table and said "Be careful and think about what you are going to say next Joseph."
I felt a tear stream down my face as I said "And Daniel is my boyfriend."
Daniel stood up and held my hand.
I saw my dads face get red.
He ran over to me and punched me.
I fell to the ground and Daniel got down and held my head up.
My mom ran over to me and my aunts and uncles held my dad back and my sister Nicole stayed with Jett to try and make him stop crying.
My dad got loose and grabbed me by my arm. He locked us in the bathroom and turned on the bathtub with hot water.
My dad took my head and put it under water while calling me terrible names.
I tried to scream but no one could hear me. But I heard people banging on the door.
Then the door opened I felt my dad being pulled off of me and then Daniel grabbed me.
He sat at the edge of the tub and held me in his arms.
My mom came over and helped me stand up.
I saw Daniel push my dad to the ground he got to the ground and punched him and said "Don't touch him ever again."
My dad said "I don't allow you to date my son."
I stood up and said "Well it's not your choice."
My mom said "Joe, they love each other, just let them be."
My dad said "Really Debbie, your just going to let our son turn into some fag?"
My mom said "Yeah, I am."
My aunt said "Let's finish dinner."
Nicole said "Kiss."
I said "Wh-what?"
My dad looked at me and said "Kiss, I fucking dare you."
I stood there and looked at my dad while my hair was dripping and my eyes were watering.
Daniel grabbed my chin and looked me in the eyes then, he kissed me.
Nicole said "Holy shit that was adorable."
I pulled away and whipped my lips.
Daniel held my hand and then we all piled back downstairs and my mom helped me dry off.
We all sat down and the rest of the dinner was awkward, very awkward.
My dad would not stop looking at me and Daniel he just had those creepy angry eyes on us the whole time.
