Finn's POV
I was just getting ready for school, my first day at a new school, when I heard a knock on my door. I was upstairs in my room so my mom went to get it. I couldn't help but wonder who could have been knocking on the door at 6:30 in the morning. I didn't really think anything of it afterwards until I came down the stairs fifteen minutes later. I was so nervous about my first day, I just moved here to LA with my mom after her and my dad got divorced. I didn't have any friends yet so I was a little apprehensive. That's all I was thinking about when I came running down that I almost didn't notice the beautiful, curly-haired boy sitting on the couch talking to my mom. When I did notice him though, I stopped dead in my tracks, noticeably awe-struck. I couldn't move.
"Finn, this is Jack, he lives a few houses down and wanted to say hello, knowing that we just moved in a few days ago," my mom explained knocking me out of my daze. "I told him about you so he asked if he could wait until you came downstairs."
"Hi, I'm Jack Dylan Grazer. I knew you guys just moved in and my mom wanted me to make sure you guys were getting settled," he told me excitedly. "Do you go to the local high school?"
"Uh, yeah. It's my first day," I responded.
"Are you nervous?"
"A little, I don't really know anyone yet."
"I could walk with you, if you wanted, and show you around the school before classes start." He had the cutest smile and giggle as he said this, making my heart race inside my chest for some reason.
"Yeah, I'd love that. It'd be cool to have a friend on my first day," I said smiling, my face getting hotter by the second. I never thought that I was gay before, but this boy makes my feel a way that I haven't felt with anyone else.
"Great! Want to head out now." I nodded.
"Mom!" I screamed after I realized she had walked away to do something. "Jack is going to walk me to school; see you later."
"Okay, have a great first day! Tell me all about it when you get home," she screamed back.
"I will," I said, slightly softer, a little embarrassed in front of the new boy.
"Let's go!" Jack yelled excitedly, grabbing my hand with some force and pulling me out the door. He seemed really excited and that made the butterflies in my stomach grow even larger.
Jack's POV
Thirty minutes earlier
I was getting ready for another ordinary day at school when I heard my mom yell up the stairs.
"Yeah, mom?" I yelled back, not quite understanding her.
"Will you go over to the new neighbors before you head to school? Just make sure they are settling in alright. I feel bad that we haven't been over yet." She told me this with a complete urgency in her voice.
"Yeah, sure." I told her, trying not to sound as annoyed as I was. I didn't know anything about these people. Why did I have to go over there now? It seemed pointless.
I quickly finished putting on my clothes and getting ready and then ran down the stairs heading to the neighbors like my mom had requested. I hope they are at least nice.
"Thanks, hun," I heard my mom say softly as I ran out the door. I only responded with a nod. A few minutes later I arrived at the door; a little nervous all of a sudden. I knocked on the door a few times and saw a beautiful woman standing in the doorway with long brown hair and glasses.
