Finn's POV

I woke up in a strange white room. There was a woman, who I assume is a nurse, standing at a computer doing some type of work. I sat up and looked around.

"Uhh, where am I?" I asked confusingly.

"Oh, you're finally awake," she started.

"What happened?"

"You were hit by a car and now you are in the hospital," she replied to me sending a wave of emotions through my body.

"What day is it?"

"It's November 4. You've been asleep for a couple of days." Fuck, I thought to myself. This was not supposed to happen.

"Oh my god! Where is Jack?!" I screamed frantically, praying that he is okay.

"He's fine. Just scratched up a bit."

"What room?"

"Only immediate family can visit him right now; you are cleared to leave though. You only have a few bruises. You were very lucky." I started zoning out; I had to see my boy.

"I have to see him.. now!" I screamed holding back tears. The nurse looked at me with a frown.

"Listen, I know he is your friend and you'll see him soon enough," she said trying to reassure me.

"He's not just my friend! He's my boyfriend." I was crying now; I couldn't take it. The woman just stared at me.

"He's in room 114; you should know that he is still asleep though." I jumped out of bed and ran barely hearing that last part. I was in a hospital gown and my Spiderman costume was hung over a chair by the door.

I must have looked frantic but I didn't care. I needed to see my Jackie. I finally found the room after a few wrong turns and threw open the door.

"Oh my god," I whispered seeing the beautiful boy that I have fallen in love with motionless on a cot with a cast on his left arm and stitches across his forehead. His mom was there. When she saw me, she started crying and ran over to me throwing her arms around my shoulders, tears staining her cheeks. The two of us stood there crying for a few minutes.

When we broke apart from our embrace, I ran over to my boyfriend and held his hand as he "slept." I was going to stay here with him until he woke up; no matter what. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes again. Mrs. Grazer and I didn't say a word to each other for the longest time. We just sat there in silence hovering over this broken curly-haired boy.

After a while, my mom entered the room and noticed I was still teary-eyed. She immediately ran over and hugged me.

"It'll be okay, honey. He is going to wake up and still be your best friend," she said holding back tears herself.

"Mom," I started "we're more than just friends."

"I know, honey; I'm so happy that you finally figured that out for yourself." With that, the two of us cried into each others arms.

One week later

It's been a week since I got out of the hospital. Jack, though, is still in the hospital lying motionless on his bed. I've had to go to school this week despite my persistent protest. It has been the longest week of my life, not having Jack by my side. Every single day after school, I would immediately run to the nearby hospital and stay with Jack all night; I barely got any sleep at all. I wanted to be there if he did wake up.

On November 11, after the excruciatingly long week had passed, I burst into tears for the literal hundredth time. It was 9:00 in the morning and I was trying to hold myself together as best as I could. It was not easy.

"Hey, Finn. How are you doing?" I looked up and saw Jaeden standing in the doorway with Wyatt, Sophia, Chosen, and Jeremy close behind. I immediately jumped up and ran over to Jaeden and embraced him, tears still running down my cheeks.

After a moment, I let go and tried to regain my composure.

"I'm fine," I said with a fake smile.

"He's going to wake up soon, you know," Jaeden told me pulling me back into a hug. "I also told them about the kiss. Sorry," he whispered in my ear. My heart stopped.

"I love him, Jaeden."

"I know, Finn."

I then greeted the rest of the group and we all sat around Jack's bed. I was forced to tell them what happened at the Halloween party.

"Guys, I know Jaeden told you some of what happened at the party, but there is more," I started putting on a brave face. Everyone immediately got quiet and stared at me with intense interest.

"So, I have had a crush on Jack since the day I met him. His beautiful eyes, cute freckles, and curly hair made my heart flutter. He helped me come to the realization that I am gay. I never thought that he would feel the same way so I admired him from a distance as we grew closer and became best friends.

"On the night of the Halloween party, I knew that I had to tell him the truth about how I felt. During the party, before I got a chance to say anything, Jack pulled me into Jaeden's room saying that he had to tell me something. He told me that he was in love with me." I started crying again at this point. "I reciprocated his feelings and we kissed. That is when Jaeden and Wyatt walked in on us." I took a deep breath.

"The rest of the party was a blast obviously and we started walking back to our houses. About halfway home we crossed the street and I told him that I was really in love with him and he said that he loved me. That was when we were struck and the next thing I remember is waking up here four days later." I was a mess now. I didn't think it was possible to cry this much.

"Awe, Finn," Sophia said giving me a hug. "That's so sweet, other than, you know, the whole getting hit by a car thing." I was not very amused.

"Sorry; he is going to get better though," she tried assuring me.

The rest of the group tried holding back tears as they all consoled me. All of a sudden, in the midst of the emotion, Jack's eyes fluttered open.

"Oh my god," I said, "Hi Jackie." He just stared at me confused. After a minute he said something that broke my heart.

"Who...are...you."
